Description
Elizabeth Thompson, commonly called Liz, is a demon weapon and a recurring character in Soul Eater Not!. She is the older sister of Patricia Thompson, and together they form a pair of twin pistols. Before coming to Death City, Liz and Patty had a difficult upbringing on the streets of Brooklyn, New York. Abandoned by their mother, they became infamous delinquents known as the Devils of Brooklyn, surviving by mugging people. Their lives took a turn when they encountered Death the Kid, who would become their meister, leading them to leave their criminal past behind and enroll as students at the Death Weapon Meister Academy.
In terms of personality, Liz is the more mature and grounded of the two Thompson sisters. She often acts as the straight person in her trio, trying to keep both her eccentric meister, Kid, and her impulsive younger sister, Patty, in check. While she appears cool-headed and serious, she has many traits of a typical teenage girl, showing concern for her appearance, makeup, and shopping. However, this sensible exterior hides a notable weakness: Liz is absolutely terrified of ghosts and all things paranormal, a fear that contrasts sharply with her tough, streetwise background. Despite her rough past, she is deeply devoted to her sister, stating she cannot imagine life without Patty, and she is genuinely loyal to her friends and meister.
During the events of Soul Eater Not!, which takes place before she and Patty become full partners with Kid, Liz is shown to still be adjusting to her new life.
