Poly, known as Koko in the original Japanese version, is a parrot in the anime Kimba the White Lion, which is adapted from Osamu Tezuka's manga Jungle Taitei. His early life is marked by hardship: he belonged to the owner of a large hotel, who treated him cruelly by keeping him chained and striking him. After he gained his freedom, Poly met Panja, the white lion who was Kimba's father, and he came to admire Panja greatly for his strength and kindness. This encounter shaped the rest of his life, because from that moment onward he devoted himself to helping Panja's young son, Kimba, and did everything he could to assist the cub.

In the story, Poly is one of the trusted animal allies who stand beside Kimba after the young lion returns to the jungle to take up his father's place.
