Description
Kara, known fully as Kara Lemercier or Kara Rumeerushie, is a supporting character in the anime The World Is Still Beautiful. She is the third older sister of the protagonist, Princess Nike, making her the youngest of the four princesses of the Principality of Rain. In terms of her appearance, Kara is a young adolescent female with short, blonde or yellow hair cut to about ear-length and green eyes. She is also noted in supplementary materials to have a very short hairstyle and a flat chest.

Kara’s personality is defined by her distinct sense of loyalty and a touch of independence. While her older sisters, Mira and Nia, are complicit in a family plot against King Livius, Kara distinguishes herself by siding with the young king. She is described as having a quirky personality and is well-liked by fans for her willingness to help Livius when the rest of her family turned against him. Rather than following the scheme orchestrated by her grandmother Tohara, Kara chooses to act according to her own conscience, demonstrating a quiet bravery and a refusal to be controlled by familial expectations.

Her primary role in the story occurs during the Rain Dukedom arc, when Nike and Livius visit the Principality of Rain. When Livius is imprisoned and targeted by the family’s political machinations, it is Kara who facilitates his escape. This act of defiance is a crucial turning point in the arc, allowing Livius to confront the conspiracy and ultimately prove his devotion to Nike. Although she is not a main character, this action solidifies her as a reliable ally to Nike and Livius and has made her a favorite among fans of the series.

Kara’s key relationships are centered on her family. As Nike's younger sister, she shares a bond that motivates her to protect her sister's happiness rather than undermine it. Her actions stand in stark contrast to those of her grandmother and, initially, her two eldest sisters, whom she disobeys to do what she feels is right. In terms of character development, Kara does not undergo a dramatic personal transformation but instead reveals a hidden layer of integrity. Her decision to betray the family's plan shows a mature resolve, moving her from a seemingly passive princess to an active helper of the protagonists. While she possesses no notable magical abilities like her sister Nike’s power to summon rain, her value lies in her moral courage and her role as a quiet but essential supporter within the story.
