TV-Series
Description
Evergreen is a Mage belonging to the Fairy Tail guild, where she is known as the sole female member of the Thunder God Tribe, the elite team personally loyal to Laxus Dreyar. Her age is around 20 years old throughout much of the series.

Her childhood dream was to become a fairy, which was her primary reason for joining Fairy Tail, as she was initially drawn to the name rather than a sense of belonging. As a child, she was lonely and anti-social because her eyes possess the power to turn anyone who looks into them into stone. This magical ability, her Stone Eyes, forced her to wear her signature oval glasses to suppress and control this power in everyday life. Her isolation as a child was a direct result of this dangerous magic, making her initially distant from others.

In personality, Evergreen is vain, confident, and demands high expectations from her teammates and friends. Her dream is to embody a fairy, and she hates devils in opposition to this ideal. This is most clearly seen in her early resentment towards Erza Scarlet, purely because Erza holds the nickname Titania, which means Queen of the Fairies, a title Evergreen covets for herself. Despite this vanity and pride, she is not without emotion or regret. She has shown genuine guilt and care for her comrades, most notably apologizing tearfully to Elfman after a defeat and blaming herself. Her caring side also extends beyond her immediate team, as she has demonstrated distress over the safety of other guild allies during dangerous situations.

Her role in the story begins in an adversarial capacity. During the Fighting Festival arc, she and the rest of the Thunder God Tribe carry out Laxus's plan to take over the guild. Evergreen specifically targets the female members of the guild, using her Stone Eyes to petrify all the contestants of the Miss Fairy Tail Contest and threatening to let them crumble to dust unless the other Mages defeat her team. She battles Elfman Strauss, initially defeating him, but is later confronted and soundly defeated by Erza Scarlet after Erza counters her Stone Eyes with an artificial eye. Following Laxus's exile from the guild for his actions, Evergreen and her teammates are shocked and upset, initially threatening to leave. However, they ultimately remain and slowly begin to open up to the rest of Fairy Tail, integrating more fully into the guild's social life.

Key relationships define her later development. Her most notable partnership is with Elfman Strauss. Initially, their interactions are marked by her giving him orders and their bickering. Their bond deepens when she chooses him as her partner for the S-Class Mage Promotion Trial on Tenrou Island. During the trial, they are forced to work together against formidable opponents like Mirajane. To win, Evergreen devises a clever ruse, claiming she and Elfman were going to be married, which shocks their opponent and allows them to secure victory. While she reminds Elfman afterward that this was just a trick, the event cements a special and lasting relationship between the two, with later humorous moments revealing her possessiveness and growing affection for him.

Evergreen's magical abilities are rooted in two primary types of Magic: Fairy Magic and Eye Magic. Her signature ability is her Stone Eyes, which petrifies any living target that makes direct eye contact with her. This power has limitations; it does not work on non-human creatures or on individuals wearing glasses or artificial eyes that prevent direct eye contact. Her secondary magic, Fairy Magic, allows her to generate and control luminous dust particles. She uses this dust for various offensive techniques, including the Fairy Machine Gun Leprechaun, where she fires a rapid barrage of energy needles, and the Fairy Bomb Gremlin, which causes the dust particles surrounding a target to explode. She also possesses the ability to sprout wings from her back, granting her high-speed flight in combat.

Another key relationship is with her own team, the Thunder God Tribe, consisting of Laxus, Freed Justine, and Bickslow. She cares for them deeply, and they have been together for a long time. Her familiarity with Freed's Rune Magic allows her to rewrite his runes, demonstrating her deep understanding of his abilities. After the guild's seven-year disappearance and subsequent reformation, Evergreen and the Thunder God Tribe temporarily joined the Blue Pegasus guild before eventually returning to Fairy Tail alongside Laxus.

Evergreen's development is one of the clearest examples of a character transitioning from an antagonist to a loyal and integrated ally and friend. She moves from being a distant, lonely child who joined Fairy Tail only for its name to a proud member who shows genuine care for her guildmates. Her arrogance and resentment towards Erza soften as she becomes part of the guild's inner circle. Her partnership with Elfman, born out of necessity for a trial, evolves into a significant and enduring bond that reveals her more vulnerable and caring side. She remains a proud and demanding individual, but she grows to value her family within Fairy Tail over her superficial ambitions.
