Description
Rei Hououmaru began as an African child rescued from civil war-torn village soldiers by Ragyo Kiryuin two decades prior to the main events. Ragyo dismembered the attackers, recognized the child’s exceptional Life Fiber compatibility, bestowed the name "Rei Hououmaru," and gifted her signature green aviator sunglasses. This act forged Rei’s lifelong dedication to Ragyo and REVOCS Corporation, where she served as a secretary fully aware of Ragyo’s plans to spread Life Fibers despite their catastrophic threat to humanity.

Rei sported a white Life Fiber business suit with a collared shirt, tie, shorts, thigh-high stockings, and pumps. Her light purple locs featured gold hoop earrings, while Ragyo’s sunglasses remained a constant presence in her company, embodying their bond.

Her demeanor blended unwavering loyalty, professionalism, and stoicism. Rei occasionally voiced personal observations about Ragyo, hinting at intimacy beyond formal roles. She never challenged Ragyo’s morally reprehensible schemes, crediting her entire existence to the rescue. This devotion culminated in Rei willingly becoming a component to activate the ultimate Kamui, Shinra-Koketsu. Ragyo’s death shattered Rei’s composure, replacing it with vengeful rage, though redemption remained possible.

During the final battle against Ragyo, Shinra-Koketsu absorbed Rei as a power source. Senketsu’s breach of Ragyo’s chest ejected Rei; she survived the fall into rubble undetected. Mistakenly blaming Ryuko Matoi and allies for Ragyo’s suicide, Rei retreated to Honnouji Academy’s ruins. Using residual REVOCS Life Fibers, she crafted dark clones of Satsuki Kiryuin and the Elite Four modeled after their initial appearances, empowered by memories harvested from no-star students. These clones captured Satsuki and Mako Mankanshoku during the "First Graduation Ceremony." Rei harnessed the captives to transform the academy into a mobile weapon targeting her enemies. Ryuko-led forces destroyed the clones and machine. Confronting the fleeing Satsuki and Mako afterward, Rei attempted to stab Satsuki but severed her hair and grazed her neck instead. Satsuki implored Rei to discard her vengeance, insisting the world needed her despite her pain. Rei dismissed this until Satsuki declared, "That’s who we are." Rei then relinquished her weapon, accepted reconciliation, and departed with Satsuki as Honnouji Academy sank into Tokyo Bay.

In combat, Rei wielded her Life Fiber suit’s sleeves as whip-like weapons with moderate proficiency. She demonstrated superhuman speed and regeneration after apparent disintegration, exemplified when shielding Ragyo from Satsuki’s strike only to reappear unscathed. Rei could briefly engage multiple elite fighters. Her most distinctive ability synthesized Life Fibers into functional replicas of individuals, complete with uniforms and powers.
