Description
Kanon Chiyoda is a student at First High School, where she is enrolled in the specialized course as a second-year before moving on to the Magic University. She is a direct descendant of the Chiyoda family, one of the prominent magical families known as the Hundred Families, which gives her a significant standing within the magical community.

In terms of personality, Kanon is generally known for being energetic, cheerful, and somewhat impulsive. She has a very direct and straightforward way of speaking, which can sometimes lead her to make thoughtless remarks that require her fiancé to gently correct her. While she is capable of keeping her environment organized, with Tatsuya Shiba noting her exceptional ability to decide what to keep or discard, her demeanor changes considerably when her fiancé is involved. She becomes notably more affectionate and can seem overly attached or protective of him. A physically active person, Kanon is also a regular member of the track and field club, specializing in the 100-meter hurdles.

Her role within the story is primarily tied to her duties at First High School. Following in the footsteps of Mari Watanabe, she serves as the head of the Public Morals Committee, also known as the disciplinary committee, from October 2095 to September 2096. In this capacity, she is responsible for maintaining order among the student body. During the Nine Schools Competition in 2095, she is also a lead representative for her school.

A central aspect of Kanon's character is her relationship with Kei Isori, who is her fiancé. Their engagement is established early on, and they have a very strong, reciprocal bond of care and protection. While Kanon is often impulsive and devoted to Kei, he is the more level-headed partner who grounds her. This dynamic is highlighted during the Yokohama Disturbance arc when their group is ambushed. Kei instinctively shields Kanon from a grenade blast, suffering critical, life-threatening injuries. The event profoundly impacts Kanon, who is saved from heartbreak when Tatsuya Shiba secretly uses his unique magic, Regrowth, to heal Kei. From this point forward, Kanon becomes intensely grateful to Tatsuya, acknowledging his incredible abilities and the heavy price he pays to use them, and she vows to keep his secret. She also has a friendly and loyal relationship with her predecessor and senior, Mari Watanabe, who selected Kanon as her successor as head of the Public Morals Committee.

Kanon's notable abilities are derived from her prestigious lineage, as the Chiyoda family specializes in long-range solid matter oscillation systematic magic. Her signature spell is known as Landmine Field or Mine Genesis. This powerful vibration-based magic allows her to generate intense oscillations in any solid ground, such as dirt, rock, sand, or cement, effectively creating a highly destructive area of effect. This talent earns her the nickname Landmine Source. Her magical prowess is complemented by her athletic abilities, and she typically uses a specialized Casting Assistant Device in the form of a bracelet worn on her left wrist.
