TV-Series
Description
Funabori is a female second-year student at Fujou High School, sharing the same class as Kenji Kazama. She has a reputation as an exceptionally kind and diligent person, often coming to school early to clean the classroom and making sweets to deliver to the elderly. This level of consideration has earned her the unofficial title of being the number one woman worthy of being called an ideal wife, with her classmates holding her in such high regard that even an envelope she washed became a prized item. She is described as polite, well-disciplined, and easily embarrassed when praised.
In a school filled with eccentric personalities, Funabori is often seen as a voice of common sense and normalcy. She is generally gentle and composed, but she does have the capacity to become flustered, particularly in situations involving Kenji. Her erogenous zones include her armpits, a detail that has been noted in her character profile.
Her role in the story is that of a classmate who gradually becomes more involved with the main group, often through her interactions with Kenji. She is a member of the Cooking Club. Her initial recognition of Kenji came after an incident where Chitose Karasuyama dropped a side dish on the floor that Funabori had just cleaned; Kenji ate it to resolve the situation, leading Funabori to share her lunch with him when he missed his meal. After complimenting her cooking, she began to regularly bring him packed lunches, and she developed a crush on him.
Funabori's key relationships involve several of the main characters. She is conscious of Takao, particularly after Takao expressed her desire for Kenji to call her by her first name, creating a subtle rivalry between them. She also forms a friendship with Noe, a first-year student, and their bond surprises others, including Noe's older sister. While usually calm, Funabori has shown a more assertive and jealous side when other girls have physical contact with Kenji, actively trying to separate them.
Over the course of the story, Funabori transitions from a background classmate to a more prominent figure, often creating memorable scenes whenever she appears. She has participated in a game competition and been involved in events like a trip to Adventure Island. Her popularity is such that she is considered a major heroine alongside Roka Shibasaki and Takao. A running gag is that while Funabori is her family name, Kenji mistakenly thought it was her first name for a long time, as her given name has never been revealed.
Her notable abilities center on domestic skills. She excels at cooking and all forms of housework, and she is also skilled with her hands, even making her own pajamas and accessories. She is a good student, ranking 14th in her grade on final exams. In the context of the series, her natural kindness and diligence are her defining traits, setting her apart as an angelic figure among the more chaotic characters.
