Description
Jeanne Kaguya d'Arc is a young woman from the village of Domrémy on the Western Planet. Her life changed forever when she began experiencing divine visions that revealed an ominous future for her home world and spoke of the birth of a Savior King who would unite the Eastern and Western planets. Guided by these revelations, she left her home with the inventor Leonardo da Vinci, traveling to the Eastern Planet in search of the prophesied figure who would save both worlds.
In her home village, Jeanne was isolated and alienated by the other children and villagers, who saw her as a witch because of her visions and the strange natural phenomena that seemed to occur around her. This background shaped her into a determined individual who simply wishes to be valued for who she truly is. Upon arriving on the Eastern Planet, she encountered Oda Nobunaga, a brash and impulsive young lord known as the greatest fool of the day. Although she initially found him to be an idiot and seemingly uncaring, she came to believe he was the Savior King from her visions and devoted herself to his cause. To avoid raising suspicion while serving Nobunaga, she adopted a male disguise, taking the name Ranmaru Mori and wearing Japanese male attire with her hair tied up.
Jeanne possesses a unique ability to see visions of future events, a power that guides her actions throughout the narrative. While she has little skill in swordsmanship, she possesses one of the five powerful amulets known as the Sacred Treasure of Absolute Purity, which can empower a Giant Battle Armor. Leonardo da Vinci later provided her with her own Giant Battle Armor, which she named Orléans. Her connection to the ley lines of the world is tied directly to Nobunaga's destiny as the Savior King, suggesting that fate brought them together.
As the story progresses, Jeanne's initial uncertainty gives way to a fierce devotion to Nobunaga and a willingness to sacrifice herself to protect others and help him achieve his destiny. She grows increasingly protective of him, such as when she helped defend his homeland from attack. Her feelings for Nobunaga also deepen over time, leading to moments of jealousy, particularly during his betrothal ceremony to the queen Himiko. Though she initially hesitated to confront these emotions, she eventually admitted her love for Nobunaga, a sentiment that proved to be requited. In the final battle, despite being fatally injured, she remained with Nobunaga until the end, with the two declaring their love and vowing to meet again in their next lives. Her journey transforms her from an ostracized girl searching for her purpose into a woman who embraces her destiny and her feelings, ultimately finding both love and meaning in her role beside the man she believes will change the world.
