Description
Komachi Takamiya is the mother of Honoka and Kasumi Takamiya. She works as an ordinary office lady and possesses no magical abilities. Her background is closely tied to the story's core premise through her friendship with Kazane Kagari. During their high school years, Komachi was frequently bullied by her classmates. Kazane intervened and defended her, and the two became remarkably close friends. They were said to be so inseparable that they could have married each other. Because they were both women, they instead made a promise to unite their families by having their children marry. This pact provides the foundation for the arrangement between Honoka and Ayaka.

Komachi is defined by a sweet, cheerful, and gentle nature, though this softness is paired with significant emotional fragility. She can be highly optimistic and deeply pessimistic at the same time. She is very sensitive to pressure and harsh words, and she avoids confrontation whenever possible. When her daughter Kasumi once scolded her harshly, Komachi fell into a severe cycle of depression. Her perpetually smiling expression often masks this inner insecurity.

In the narrative, Komachi serves a supporting role that connects the mundane world to the magical conflict. Her primary significance lies in the history she shares with Kazane, which directly establishes the circumstances of the main characters. She is not a participant in the magical battles that occur around her son. Her development is largely static within the anime, as she remains a consistent figure of gentle emotionality. Her notable ability is not magical but personal: her unwavering, if fragile, optimism and her role as the living embodiment of the promise that binds the two families together.
