Description
Jina Purpleton is a character from the anime Freezing Vibration. A young woman of American nationality, she is nineteen years old and has pink hair and pink eyes. Jina is an E-Pandora, a type of Pandora not born with the natural ability to fight the alien beings known as Nova. Her past is a tragic one; she was sold by her parents, an experience that led her to have a negative outlook on the world and a sense of self-loathing. This difficult background motivated her to join the E-Pandora Project, hoping to escape her miserable life and prove her worth.

Jina's personality is marked by a deep-seated anger and hostility towards natural-born Pandora, whom she perceives as privileged elites. She resents the differences in their lives and often compares her own harsh existence to theirs, leading her to act aggressively even without provocation. Despite this bitterness, she is a determined individual who genuinely wants the E-Pandora Project to succeed, not only for herself but for her fellow E-Pandora friends and for the good of humanity. Her love for her friends is strong enough that it forms a core part of her identity and actions.

Within the story of Freezing Vibration, Jina is one of the central figures in the E-Pandora Project arc. She is introduced as a participant in a series of mock battles designed to gather data on the E-Pandoras' combat abilities against natural Pandoras. Jina volunteers to be the first test subject for a new enhancement drug called the Mark IV, a decision she makes to share the burden with her friend Amelia Evans. Her most significant relationships are with her fellow E-Pandoras, particularly Amelia Evans and Rattle, who are her closest companions and for whom she feels a strong sense of loyalty. She also has a complex relationship with the natural Pandora Satellizer L. Bridget, whose battle data is used for Jina's Mark IV enhancement. Jina expresses gratitude to Satellizer, feeling a connection to her strength and fighting spirit.

Jina's development is tragic and serves as a major catalyst for the events that follow. The Mark IV drug is unstable, and its effects cause her to undergo a horrifying transformation into a Nova-like creature, a process known as Novalization. Even as she loses control, her remaining humanity drives her to seek out Amelia and Rattle in order to warn them that the Mark IV is a sham. This act of attempted warning highlights her love for her friends. Ultimately, Jina is killed in battle by the powerful Pandora Charles Bonaparte, who sees her as a Nova that must be eliminated. Her death has a profound impact on the other E-Pandoras, becoming one of the primary reasons for their subsequent rebellion against the Chevalier and the E-Pandora Project.

As an E-Pandora, Jina's natural abilities are generally below those of a natural-born Pandora; for instance, she cannot produce her own Volt Weapon. However, after being injected with the Mark IV drug, her power increases dramatically. She gains the ability to manifest her own Volt Weapon, which takes the form of a long staff, and can perform advanced techniques like the Accel Turn, allowing her to fight on par with a natural Pandora. When she enters her Nova Form due to the Mark IV's side effects, her power escalates even further, enabling her to overpower a high-ranking Pandora like Elizabeth Mably and even break through a Limiter's Freezing ability.
