Description
Shogo Hatakeyama, a human selected by the angel Emaka as a God candidate, formed a suicide pact with fellow exam-taker Saburo Tabuchi after repeatedly failing college entrance exams. Angels intervened before they could act, offering them candidacy for Godhood. Hatakeyama and Tabuchi accepted, forging a new pact to make each other happy if either succeeded.

Hatakeyama possessed medium-length dark hair and stubble, typically wearing a track suit. To conceal his identity, he adopted the disguise of the TV superhero Metroblue, using a costume that completely obscured his features.

Learning of Metropoliman's public invitation for God candidates at Jinbo Stadium, Hatakeyama and Tabuchi attended disguised as Metroblue and Metroyellow. They planned to exploit their numerical advantage against Metropoliman, believing the two-second firing delay between arrows would prevent him killing both simultaneously. Hatakeyama shot a red arrow at Metropoliman during the confrontation, but it had no effect, revealing the figure to be a decoy controlled remotely.

Hatakeyama publicly challenged the real Metropoliman to appear, citing knowledge of the arrow's 31.6-meter range limitation. After observing Metropoliman's jumbotron address, he concluded the real candidate wouldn't appear and decided to interrogate the decoy. He attempted to use a red arrow on a young girl who identified herself as a God candidate, but Metropoliman abducted her before he could act.

Hatakeyama later convinced two individuals disguised as Metropink and Metrogreen to join him, shooting them with red arrows to ensure their loyalty. While distracted by another jumbotron announcement, he failed to notice Metropoliman replacing the decoy. The real Metropoliman then fatally shot Hatakeyama in the head with a white arrow.

As a God candidate, Hatakeyama possessed wings granting flight and a red arrow capable of compelling love and obedience in a target for 33 days. He held a Class 1 angel set containing both these items. His primary relationship was his partnership with Tabuchi, forged through their shared suicide pact and subsequent alliance as God candidates, which lasted until their confrontation with Metropoliman at Jinbo Stadium.
