TV-Series
Description
In the anime Golden Time, the character known as 2D is a supporting figure whose real name is not commonly used. His nickname, 2D, is derived from his pronounced preference for two-dimensional media, such as anime and video games, over real-life, three-dimensional romance and social situations. As a friend and university classmate of the protagonist Tada Banri, 2D serves as a member of the main circle of friends. His primary role in the story is to provide comic relief, with his eccentric and humorous antics bringing a lighthearted tone to the series. He is characterized by his obsession with otaku culture, which is a central and defining aspect of his personality and the source of much of the show's comedy. There is little to no exploration of his background, personal motivations, or individual character development throughout the series, as he remains a consistent source of levity rather than a focus of dramatic arcs. His key relationships are defined by his friendship with Banri and the rest of their social group, but he does not have a significant romantic storyline. Notable abilities are not applicable to his character, as his function is purely for comedic and social support within the ensemble cast.
