TV-Series
Description
Saburo Tabuchi, operating under the alias Metroyellow, was a human chosen by the angel Egura as a candidate in the battle to become the next God. Crushed by failure on his college entrance exam, he sank into deep shame and despair, prompting him to propose a joint suicide pact with fellow exam failure Shogo Hatakeyama. Before acting, angels visited both young men, offering them the chance to become god candidates. Saburo and Shogo accepted, pledging to secure the other's happiness should one succeed.
In his civilian life, Saburo presented as a young man with short dark hair, glasses, and neat attire. As Metroyellow, he concealed his identity within a full-body costume inspired by a TV superhero, functionally identical to Metropoliman's disguise, ensuring anonymity during public operations.
Saburo and Shogo, disguised as Metroyellow and Metroblue, infiltrated the crowd at Jinbo Stadium during Metropoliman's public invitation. They launched an attack using their red arrows, but when these proved ineffective, they deduced the figure was a decoy controlled remotely. Publicly challenging Metropoliman, they cited his arrow speed and range limitations, demanding his true appearance while calling on other hidden god candidates to join them.
When young god candidate Chiyo Nakayama offered alliance, Saburo and Shogo attempted to secure her loyalty with a red arrow. Metropoliman intercepted, striking Chiyo first and taking control. The arrival of two new individuals claiming to be Metropink and Metrogreen followed. Saburo guarded Shogo as Shogo shot both newcomers. This distraction allowed the real Metropoliman to switch unnoticed with his decoy. Metropoliman then killed Shogo with a white arrow and shot Saburo with a red arrow, placing him under mind control.
Compelled by the red arrow, Saburo expressed loyalty and questioned Metropoliman's plan. Metropoliman revealed Metropink and Metrogreen were merely paid actors for diversion. Still under control, Saburo was handcuffed to Chiyo and a stadium railing. Metropoliman used him to publicly demonstrate the red arrow's limitations: despite his forced love for Metropoliman, Saburo instinctively tried to flee when threatened with a white arrow. Metropoliman executed Saburo with the white arrow as part of a spectacle designed to lure out remaining candidates.
As a god candidate, Saburo possessed angelic wings granting flight and red arrows capable of enforcing obsessive love in targets for 33 days.
