Description
Hyou was a slave who grew up alongside his best friend and fellow orphan, Shin, after they were taken in by the village head. Hyou is notably more level-headed and composed than his impulsive friend, displaying a maturity that manifested in practical domestic skills such as cooking and cleaning. Despite his calmer demeanor, his swordsmanship was practically on par with Shin's, though he personally admitted to believing that Shin possessed a greater natural strength. Hyou demonstrated a remarkable and innate leadership ability, possessing a charisma so powerful that he could inspire the king's troops to follow him even when they knew he was not the true king. This quality, along with his selfless sacrifice, left an unforgettable impression on those who served with him.

His primary role in the story is as the catalyst for Shin's dream to become a great general. It was Hyou who first gave Shin the ambition to rise above their slave origins and strive for the highest military rank. He shares a critical relationship with Ei Sei, the future king, as his resemblance to the monarch leads him to serve as a body double, an assignment that ultimately places him on a dangerous path. His most significant relationship is with Shin, their bond of brotherhood forged through shared hardship. Unlike Shin, whose strength fluctuates dramatically under pressure, entering a tranquil fury that makes him exceptional, Hyou’s ability remains consistent and reliable, performing at a high but predictable level in the heat of battle. His sacrifice is a pivotal event that deeply shapes Shin's unwavering determination and path as a warrior.
