Description
Aina Sakurai is a first-year student at Sakimori Academy, easily recognized by her distinctive glasses and twin-tail hairstyle. She stands at 155 centimeters tall, with a birthday on April 28th. Aina is a member of the school's broadcasting club and is often seen in the company of her close friends, including Haruto Tokishima, Shouko Sashinami, and Kyuuma Inuzuka.

In terms of personality, Aina is defined by her gentle and caring nature, though she is also extremely shy. Despite her reserved demeanor, she possesses a quiet inner strength and a deep-seated courage. She dislikes sad stories, but surprisingly has a fondness for horror, even though it frightens her. Her primary motivation is her concern for others, which drives her to offer comfort to those who are isolated or in distress. She is one of the few people who reaches out to the idol Saki Rukino, treating her as an ordinary person and forming a genuine friendship with her. She also shows compassion for the abrasive Raizou Yamada when he is injured, demonstrating her ability to see past others' flaws.

Aina's role in the story is that of a loyal and supportive friend who quietly stands by Haruto. She becomes one of the select few who knows the secret of his powers after piloting the Valvrave. While others may see him as a monster, Aina reinterprets his condition in a more positive light, suggesting that a divine spirit must have visited him and that he is "god-possessed" rather than cursed. This reassurance provides Haruto with significant emotional comfort.

Her key relationships are central to her character. She shares a unique bond with Saki Rukino, being the only student who made an effort to befriend the isolated idol, a kindness for which Saki is deeply grateful. She is also very close to Kyuuma Inuzuka; the two are frequently together and are often mistaken for a couple. While Kyuuma harbors romantic feelings for Aina, it is implied that she does not entirely reciprocate them, though she clearly cherishes him deeply. Her relationship with Haruto is also significant, with hints that she may have romantic feelings for him, as shown when she blushes after holding his hand while trying to comfort him.

Aina's most notable development is her tragic end. During a battle, she is caught in the crossfire of a mecha attack and killed. Her death is a pivotal moment that has a profound impact on the other characters. It directly motivates Kyuuma to pilot a Valvrave himself, seeking power to fight back and avenge her. Even after her death, her memory continues to inspire her friends. Kyuuma later receives a vision of Aina, who encourages him not to join her in death but to keep living.

In terms of abilities, Aina possesses no special combat skills or supernatural powers. Her strength lies in her emotional intelligence and her capacity for empathy. She is able to remain calm under pressure and has a gift for offering words of comfort and support at the most critical moments, proving that quiet kindness can be a powerful force.
