Description
Emerada Etuva is a human mage from the continent of Ente Isla, specifically serving as the highest-ranking court magician directly under the ruler of the Holy Saint Aire Empire, which is the dominant power on the Western Continent. She is a trusted friend and comrade of Emilia Justina, also known as the Hero Emilia, having fought alongside her against the Demon Lord's army.

In terms of background, Emerada hails from a minor noble family in the empire. Despite the challenges of her era, she was able to enter a prestigious academy due to her family's support and graduated with excellent grades. During the demon invasion, she was once held hostage by the demon general Lucifer before being rescued by Emilia, after which she became a full-fledged member of the hero's party. A tragic and defining moment in her past involves the fall of her father's territory; due to strategic military decisions, she was forced to abandon its defense, leading to the massacre of her family by demon forces. This event forged a deep-seated hatred for the demon army within her.

Physically, Emerada possesses a very small and slight figure, standing at 149 cm (approximately 4'11") and weighing around 40 kg (88 lbs). She has a child-like face, green-blue hair that curls slightly at the ends, and matching green-blue eyes that often appear half-asleep or half-closed. Her typical attire consists of a magician's outfit complete with a cape and a hat.

Her personality is a blend of calmness and cheerfulness, often coming across as laid-back and spaced out. Her manner of speaking reflects this relaxed nature, as she frequently trails off at the end of her sentences. Despite her languid demeanor, she is highly observant of her surroundings and possesses a sharp strategic mind, as demonstrated when she chose not to attack the Demon Lord Maou during their first encounter on Earth. Emerada is deeply loyal to Emilia, caring for her well-being and providing both emotional and practical support. She also enjoys teasing Emilia about her ambiguous relationship with the former Demon Lord, Sadao Maou.

Regarding motivations, her primary driving force is the protection of her friend Emilia and the pursuit of pragmatic solutions to the conflicts between Ente Isla and the demons. She is willing to put aside old hatreds and cooperate with former enemies if it leads to a more stable and peaceful resolution, showcasing a flexible and often pragmatic ethical code. For instance, she helps develop tools to support Emilia's mission on Earth, such as Holy Vitamin β, a mana-replenishing drink that works in a world without natural magic.

In the story's wider role, Emerada functions as a key strategic ally and information broker for the characters from Ente Isla living on Earth. She often remains in Ente Isla to manage political affairs, rise through the ranks (such as becoming the head of the Magical Supervision Institute), and conduct research. When major events unfold, she travels between worlds to provide crucial intelligence, open portals, and assist in confrontations. When she does adapt to life in modern Japan, her small stature contrasts humorously with a notably large appetite, especially for sweets like cream puffs, and she has a fascination with modern technology such as trains.

Her key relationships are predominantly with her fellow heroes. She shares an extremely close bond with Emilia Justina, whom she affectionately calls Eme, and serves as one of her most trusted confidants. She also works closely with Albert Ende, another hero from Ente Isla, forming a complementary combat partnership that balances his physical strength with her magical skill. Conversely, her relationship with Olba Mayer, a former comrade, turns adversarial after his betrayal is uncovered.

In terms of character development, Emerada evolves from a frontline combatant in a war into a political figure and strategist working behind the scenes. While initially driven by a fierce hatred for demons due to her family's death, she eventually demonstrates a willingness to set aside those feelings to deal with greater threats and complex political realities, showing a growth toward pragmatic diplomacy rather than pure vengeance. At times, however, she reveals internal conflicts regarding this path, such as struggling to fully accept Emilia's child, Alas Ramus, because the child is tied to the Demon Lord, indicating that old prejudices do not disappear overnight.

As one of the four heroes who opposed the Demon Lord, Emerada is a formidable magician of legendary status in Ente Isla, renowned as one of the most powerful magic users in her world. Her notable abilities include high-level magical chemistry and the capacity to cast powerful spells with simple incantations. She has demonstrated the ability to turn the demon general Alciel into stone and, during the final battle on Ente Isla, halt the movement of the Demon Lord Satan himself mid-air, buying Emilia the crucial second she needed to open the Gate to Earth. This specific spell, which may either freeze time or turn the target to stone, involves her crossing her arms to create several green runes. She also possesses the ability to fly and can open magical gates for interdimensional travel.
