Description
Fumi Hibino is a freshman student attending Hakuou Academy, where she is a peer of the main cast. She has short orange hair and orange eyes, and outside of the school uniform, she is frequently seen wearing a red track suit. Her most distinctive visual trait is her frequent dumbstruck expression, characterized by large, round eyes and a wide mouth that comically conveys shock or surprise. This expression is a recurring gag throughout her appearances.

In terms of personality, Fumi is rather dim-witted and very gullible, often taking things at face value in a way that leads to humorous misunderstandings. She is easily confused by situations that are not straightforward. However, this general lack of shrewdness is contrasted by an unusually high ability and proficiency in mathematics, where she demonstrates brilliance that far exceeds her typical demeanor. She has a noted preference for math and a disinterest in almost any other subject. Fumi is also highly emotional and has a habit of over-expressing her feelings by saying or thinking them out loud in English. Furthermore, she frequently refers to herself in the third person when speaking.

Fumi’s introduction to the story occurs as she begins her first year at Hakuou Academy. Her early interactions with the student council president, Hinagiku Katsura, are marked by comical social missteps, such as bluntly commenting on seeing Hinagiku's panties when she is up a tree. Despite these awkward beginnings, she becomes acquainted with the main circle of characters. Her role in the narrative is primarily that of a recurring comic relief character who interacts with the established cast in side stories. A significant personal motivation for Fumi is her expressed wish to become the next president of the student council, succeeding Hinagiku.

Her most important relationship is with Sharna Alamgir, who is her best friend and is almost always seen alongside her. The pair often appear together in the background of scenes or as part of a comedic duo. She also interacts with other major characters, such as in an episode where she attempts to become a maid for Isumi Saginomiya, confidently touting her skills, though the attempt ultimately fails. In another storyline, she is reunited with her lost pet dog, a large animal with the dramatic name Armageddon. She also hosts a quiz contest in one episode, a setting that briefly highlights her mathematical genius.

There is minimal character development for Fumi, as she remains a consistent source of comic relief. The narrative establishes her ambition to become student council president, suggesting a future role for her, but within the timeframe of the story she remains a new, eccentric underclassman. Her primary function is to add a layer of quirky humor, often through her blank expressions, gullible nature, and the contrast between her general cluelessness and her sharp mathematical mind. Her notable ability is, unequivocally, her extraordinary talent for solving complex mathematical problems with incredible speed and accuracy, a skill that sets her apart from her otherwise simple demeanor.
