Description
Chief Goyle holds the position of Police Chief for a division within the Acropolis police force, serving directly under the King. His primary responsibility is maintaining peace and order within this demonic realm, and he acts as the superior officer and partner to Beros. He is a tall demon with pointy ears, sharp fangs, and a dark purple, devil-like tail. Goyle has medium-length, spiky black hair and orange eyes concealed behind black, horn-rimmed glasses that feature three silver stars on the sidepieces. Two small scars are visible on his left temple. His typical attire consists of a red button-up shirt, a white tie, and a short black jacket with a white cross on the back and white stripes on the cuffs. He also wears a white belt with a star-shaped buckle, black skinny jeans, black shoes, and a yellow-orange ribbon tied around his left arm.

Goyle is a person who respects his rank and takes his job with the utmost seriousness, clearly understanding his position and value as a law enforcement officer in the Acropolis. He generally carries himself with a calm and reserved demeanor. However, he possesses a short-tempered side, and when his anger is provoked, it can become a dominant force, clouding his judgment and leading him to act impulsively. His passion for glasses is a notable quirk; he is quick to compliment others on their eyewear and becomes offended by taunts directed at glasses, even owning a coffee mug adorned with a drawing of a pair of glasses.

Goyle’s motivations are deeply tied to his sense of duty and his position within the demon world's hierarchy. He is driven to enforce the law and capture fugitives, as seen when he relentlessly pursues Braz after Braz escapes custody and appears to have harmed Beros. His reaction in this situation shows that his duty is also personal, as his anger is fueled by a perceived attack on his partner. While he is a strict enforcer, he is not entirely unreasonable; he can be negotiated with, as demonstrated when Braz talks him down from a violent confrontation.

Within the story, Goyle's primary role is that of an authority figure and an antagonist who pursues the protagonist, Braz. After Braz is captured and then escapes from the palace, Goyle takes charge of the pursuit. His dedication leads to several confrontations, though these conflicts often involve a mix of tense action and moments of unexpected calm, such as when the two decide to get ice cream together while maintaining a tense atmosphere. Goyle’s key relationship is with his subordinate, Beros. While he is her boss, the partnership is close enough that the sight of her unconscious body is enough to send him into a furious rage. He is also directly subordinate to King Wolf and has a somewhat friendly but combative relationship with Braz, who is his quarry.

In terms of development, Goyle's anger is both his greatest weapon and his most exploitable flaw. While it fuels his magic, causing it to grow in power, it can also be manipulated. Braz, for instance, learns that calming Goyle down weakens his abilities, providing an escape route. After being tricked into capturing the wrong person due to his fury, Goyle shows disappointment in himself, indicating an awareness of his own shortcomings. His abilities are classified as Privilege Magic, a type of high-caliber magic likely granted to him due to his position as a head law enforcement official. His primary ability is Spear-head of Fury, also known as Angry Spear, which manifests as a small dragon-like creature called Angra. The process is physically unpleasant, as Goyle vomits up a purple liquid that forms the creature. Angra’s power fluctuates based on the intensity of Goyle's anger, and it serves to seek out and destroy the source of his frustration. This creature can shapeshift into other forms, such as an organic gauntlet to enhance Goyle's punching power or wings to grant him the ability to fly. Another technique is Cool Decision, which allows him to instantly freeze anyone who comes into contact with his forehead or head. He also possesses Anger Wave, an ability that sends a wave of emotion through an opponent, causing their muscles to relax completely and inducing a deep sleep that can last for an entire day. The efficacy of all his powers is fundamentally tied to his emotional state, with his anger empowering his primary attack and his calm demeanor enabling his freezing ability.
