Alexander O. Howell, often called Alec, is a character from Ceres, Celestial Legend. He is a Scottish scientist who studied in the United States before being recruited by Kagami to research the legends of the celestial maidens, or tennyo. Physically, he is an adult male with blue eyes and long blonde hair that reaches his waist.

Personality-wise, Alec is presented as a certified genius with a very high IQ, and he is also notably an avid otaku. He speaks Japanese with a thick accent, a trait that distinguishes him from other characters. His role in the story is that of a scientist employed by the powerful Mikage International corporation, where he provides advanced technology for the development of the C-Project.

Alec's motivations are rooted in his work and his subsequent moral awakening. He initially takes the position with Mikage International to research the tennyo legends. However, as the project progresses, he discovers that the reality of the situation does not align with his expectations. His growing discomfort with the company's actions leads him to try and back out from his duties.
