Description
Miori Sahara is a distant cousin of Aya Mikage and a C-Genomer, meaning she carries the blood of a celestial maiden. When she first meets Aya during the twins' sixteenth birthday gathering, the two become friends quickly. However, during that same event, Aya's celestial powers are unintentionally released, causing severe internal damage to Miori's mother, who later dies as a result. This loss twists Miori's personality from amiable to cruel and vengeful. She holds Aya responsible for her mother's death, a fact that Aya remains unaware of. Driven by grief and a desire for revenge, Miori aligns herself with Kagami, a member of the Mikage family who seeks to exploit celestial powers. Under his orders, she undergoes a transformation into a tennyo, or celestial maiden, in an effort to eliminate Aya. Her abilities, gained through this transformation, mirror those of other celestial beings, granting her enhanced strength and supernatural powers. Miori's role in the story is that of an antagonist turned by tragedy, whose personal vendetta against Aya stems from a misunderstanding and loss she cannot forgive. Her key relationships are defined by this conflict: her bond with Aya shifts from friendship to enmity, and her connection to Kagami is one of manipulation and shared purpose. Throughout her arc, Miori remains consumed by bitterness, with little room for redemption, making her a sorrowful figure whose latent celestial nature is perverted by grief and revenge.
