TV-Series
Description
Hinata Kuraue is a high school girl and the primary catalyst for the story's events. She is a childhood friend of Aoi Yukimura, having known her from elementary school before the two were separated. They reunite by chance in high school, and Hinata's reemergence brings back memories of a promise they made as children: to watch the sunrise from a mountaintop together.

Hinata has a distinct appearance, characterized by short black hair that she often styles into two small bundles on the sides of her head. As a first-year high school student, she stands 155 cm tall.

In terms of personality, Hinata is defined by her boundless energy and enthusiasm. She is outgoing, boisterous, and not easily intimidated. This is contrasted by a tendency to be a playful tease, especially towards Aoi. Her teasing nature can make her seem like a gadfly, but it is never malicious. Underneath her rough-and-tumble exterior, she is observant and possesses a surprisingly sensitive side. Despite her sometimes lazy or carefree demeanor, she is intellectually gifted and consistently earns high grades, even tutoring younger students.

Hinata's primary motivation is her love for mountain climbing, a passion she inherited from her father. However, her more personal drive is her desire to reconnect with Aoi and help her overcome her crippling fear of heights. She is the driving force that pulls Aoi out of her indoor comfort zone, and it is through Hinata's insistence and encouragement that Aoi begins to take up mountaineering and confront her past trauma. While enthusiastic, her own knowledge and experience in climbing are still at a beginner level, meaning she and Aoi often learn together.

Within the story, Hinata serves as the energetic counterpart to Aoi's introverted and cautious nature. Her role is that of an instigator and a supportive friend. Her most significant relationship is with Aoi. Although she often drags Aoi into schemes or provokes her with clever barbs, she holds a very high regard for their friendship. Their relationship is not without its strains; as the series progresses, the natural tension of two close friends growing and changing becomes a focal point, leading to misunderstandings and passive-aggressive conflicts that test their bond. Despite these moments of friction, her care for Aoi is genuine, and she always shows her true consideration when it matters most.

Hinata demonstrates clear development throughout the series. Initially, her approach is simply to pull Aoi forward with her own energy and inspiration. As she grows, she learns a more mature form of support. A significant turning point occurs during a challenging climb when she realizes that constant encouragement is not enough. She learns to adjust her own pace, slowing down to stay with Aoi and providing quiet, steady support from behind. She also dedicates time to researching and selecting appropriate mountains, like Mount Tenran, that are suited to Aoi's skill level and fear of heights, showing a thoughtful and protective side beneath her impulsive exterior.

Beyond her academic intelligence, Hinata's notable abilities include her social adaptability and her capacity for observation. She easily attracts friends with her spontaneous and lively personality. She is also very perceptive, particularly when it comes to Aoi. She can notice Aoi's fear through subtle signs, such as paleness or changes in behavior, which allows her to offer help before it is explicitly asked for. Conversely, she has a notable weakness in cooking, often relying on pre-made meals for their climbing trips.
