Access Time is an angel who serves as the companion and ally to Chiaki Nagoya, also known as the phantom thief Kaitou Sindbad. Originating from Heaven, Access Time is notably smaller than a human, standing only eighteen centimeters tall and weighing one hundred twenty-eight grams. He has purple hair and brown eyes, and his most distinguishing physical feature is a jewel on his forehead, which is essential for Chiaki to transform into his kaitou persona. His favorite food is pancakes, while he strongly dislikes tomatoes.

As a dark angel, Access Time is responsible for detecting the presence of demons. He works alongside Sindbad to seal these demons away when they possess works of art, and after Sindbad pierces a painting with a special pin, Access Time collects the resulting black chess piece. He is a loyal and reliable friend to Chiaki, always keeping him informed about ongoing situations and providing crucial support for his missions. His personality is generally laid-back and carefree, with a notable fondness for eating. Despite his easygoing demeanor, he can be somewhat clumsy and awkward when interacting with Fin Fish, the angel he loves, though he tries to present his best self whenever she is nearby.

Access Time harbors deep romantic feelings for Fin Fish, the angel who assists Kaitou Jeanne. He is deeply in love with her, and although she consistently rejects his advances, he remains devoted, once telling Chiaki that the pain is worth enduring because the thought of someone else winning her affection would be far worse. Unlike Fin, Access Time has no objections to the relationship between Maron Kusakabe (Jeanne) and Chiaki. His love for Fin is profound enough that he once grew a magical flower called Saint Lovers, whose petals cause anyone who eats them to fall in love with the grower. When Fin ate a petal and became infatuated with him, Access Time enjoyed this at first but ultimately decided this artificial version of Fin was not the person he truly loved. He took back the petal, restoring her to normal, and accepted that she would no longer care for him, finding happiness in her freedom to choose whom to love.

Within the story, Access Time plays a critical role as the counterpart to Fin Fish. While Fin was sent by God to assist Maron, she was actually loyal to the evil king and had been gathering demon chess pieces to strengthen him. Access Time, however, was also sent by God but with the genuine mission to watch over and protect Maron. Because he could not accomplish this alone, he selected Chiaki and granted him the power to become Sindbad, ensuring he would have an ally to help safeguard her. This makes Access Time instrumental in the series' central conflict, as his actions provide a counterbalance to Fin's betrayal.

Throughout the series, Access Time undergoes significant development. He is revealed to have once lived in Heaven alongside Fin Fish and other angels. His status evolves when he becomes a semi-angel in the manga, though he later gives all of his holy power to Fin so that she can be reborn, which reverts him to a dark angel. His love for Fin ultimately drives his most selfless act, as he works toward becoming a full angel specifically to be reincarnated alongside her. In the manga's conclusion, Access Time is reborn as Shinji Minazuki, the son of Miyako Todaiji and Yamato Minazuki. Upon being reborn, he immediately proposes to the reborn Fin Fish, now named Natsuki, when he sees her holding his earring. This resolution confirms that his enduring love across lifetimes is ultimately reciprocated and fulfilled.

In terms of abilities, Access Time possesses the talent of teleportation, allowing him to move through space instantaneously. He also has the power to detect demons, which is essential for Sindbad's missions, and his forehead jewel is a critical component that enables Chiaki's transformation into Kaitou Sindbad.
