Description
Kenichirou Senomiya is a supporting character in Robotics;Notes, primarily known as the father of Akiho Senomiya and Misaki Senomiya. He holds a significant and authoritative position as the director of the Tanegashima Space Center, which is the local branch of the Japanese space agency JAXA. His professional role makes him a high-ranking official in charge of the space center's operations, placing him as the superior of other characters like the engineer Nae Tennouji.

Physically, he is an adult male with black eyes and black hair that is cut to ear-length. His birthday is on November 18. While he was once described as a capable individual, by the time of the story he has become a kind but seemingly unreliable middle-aged man, giving off the impression of a supportive yet somewhat ineffectual father figure.

In his official capacity, Kenichirou oversees the Robotics Support Project, a JAXA initiative designed to educate young people and cultivate future engineers in the robotics field. This project has the resources and authority to assist the Robot Research Club at Chuo Tanegashima High School, a club originally founded by his elder daughter Misaki and later led by his younger daughter Akiho. However, his position creates a complex dynamic. Because JAXA is a taxpayer-funded government agency, he cannot simply approve funding for his daughter's club as a favor. Doing so would be a conflict of interest, requiring all requests to go through proper official procedures. Consequently, JAXA will only offer its expertise and financial support if the club's projects are realistic and viable. For instance, the agency refused to back the initial design for the giant robot GunBuild-1, as its specifications were not considered practical by JAXA engineers.

His relationship with his daughters is central to his role. Akiho directly attempts to petition him for funding to build a giant robot, leading to a family discussion about the club's ambitions. Despite the professional boundaries he must maintain, he is not an antagonist. He ultimately supports the club's efforts, and as technology advances, JAXA eventually provides the backing necessary to turn the previously unrealistic GunBuild-1 into a functional machine, which is then upgraded into Super GunBuild-1. This demonstrates that his motivations are rooted in practicality and adherence to regulations, while still allowing for a degree of support for his children's passions when circumstances become feasible.
