Description
Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli is a central ally in his respective storyline, a young Italian warrior who carries the weight of his family lineage. Born on May 13, 1918, Caesar is the grandson of Will Anthonio Zeppeli, the man who aided Jonathan Joestar in the battle against vampiric forces years prior. Standing 186 centimeters tall with a muscular build, Caesar is recognized by his golden blond hair, emerald green eyes, and a pair of distinctive purple or turquoise-colored birthmarks on his cheeks. His typical attire includes a jacket over a tucked-in shirt, a long patterned scarf, weighted gloves for combat, and a notable headband decorated with a row of tessellated triangles.

Caesar’s personality is defined by a complex mix of fiery pride, outward arrogance, and deep-seated loyalty. Initially, he comes across as a hot-blooded and supremely confident fighter, often displaying a flirtatious and charming demeanor as a self-assured ladies' man who enjoys romantic pursuits. He holds immense pride in his Italian heritage and the Zeppeli family name, believing that such bonds are stronger than most. However, beneath this suave exterior lies a man with a short temper and a tendency toward recklessness, a fatal flaw that heavily influences his actions. Despite his brashness, he possesses a strong sense of honor and determination, though he can be easily exasperated by the antics of those he considers unsophisticated or irresponsible.

The foundation of Caesar's motivation stems from a tragic and troubled past. As a child, he idolized his father, Mario Zeppeli. When Caesar was ten years old, his father mysteriously abandoned the family, leaving Caesar and his siblings to be swindled by relatives and placed in a harsh orphanage. This perceived betrayal transformed his admiration into a burning hatred, turning him into a violent juvenile delinquent who committed numerous crimes and refused to use his family name. At the age of sixteen, he tracked his father to Rome, intending to exact revenge. Following him beneath the Colosseum, Caesar accidentally triggered a trap set by the ancient Pillar Men. His father sacrificed his own life to save him, though he did not recognize his son. In that moment, Caesar realized his father had not abandoned them, but had left to secretly battle the Pillar Men to protect his family. This revelation transformed his hatred into a fierce sense of duty and pride, driving him to master the Ripple and avenge his father's death.

Within the narrative, Caesar serves as a rival and eventual brother-in-arms to Joseph Joestar. Their relationship begins with intense animosity; Caesar blames Joseph's grandfather for the death of his own grandfather and views Joseph's unrefined Ripple abilities as a disgrace. This friction is highlighted by a brawl and numerous competitive clashes early in their acquaintance. However, after Joseph demonstrates his courage and cunning by sacrificing himself to save Caesar and an ally from the Pillar Men, Caesar’s respect for him grows. Under the tutelage of their master, Lisa Lisa, whom Caesar respects as if she were his mother, he and Joseph undergo grueling training together. This shared ordeal forges their rivalry into a deep, unspoken bond of mutual trust and friendship, making them a nearly telepathic team in battle.

Caesar is a highly skilled Ripple warrior, specializing in techniques that utilize soapy bubbles generated from his specialized gloves. His abilities include the Bubble Launcher, a barrage of Ripple-infused projectiles capable of blowing away an opponent. He developed the Bubble Cutter, which uses centrifugal force to create razor-sharp spinning bubbles capable of slicing through the wind-based defenses of the Pillar Man Wamuu. Another technique, the Bubble Lenses, creates stationary bubbles that refract and focus sunlight into concentrated, burning beams. He is also capable of using Ripple Hypnosis to control the actions of others through a kiss or touch. Beyond these attacks, Caesar possesses superhuman physical prowess, including the ability to perform the "seated jump," leaping great heights from a sitting position, and can channel the Ripple to adhere to or repel from surfaces.

Caesar's character culminates in a tragic and heroic demise. Driven by his insatiable need for revenge and an impulsive temperament, he ignores orders and storms the Pillar Men’s hideout alone, where he faces Wamuu. Despite a brilliant fight that pushes the ancient warrior to his limits, a single tactical error allows Wamuu to land a fatal attack known as the Divine Sandstorm, which destroys Caesar’s internal organs. Mortally wounded and with his last moments of consciousness fading, he does not despair. Instead, with the final remnants of his Ripple energy, he rips the antidote-laced lip ring from Wamuu’s face, wraps it and his treasured headband in a bubble formed from his own blood, and offers it as a final gift to his friend Joseph, urging him to take his will. As the ceiling collapses and crushes his body, Caesar Antonio Zeppeli dies a hero, passing the torch of his lineage and spirit to Joseph Joestar, cementing his legacy as a warrior who carried on the Zeppeli name with unwavering pride.
