Within the events of Jewelpet Sunshine, Nephrite serves as the Jewelpet partner of Akira Nanase. He first appears to Akira in order to lift a curse placed by the Jewelpet Diana, which had caused Akira to behave harshly toward the children he coached in basketball. Much like Ruby, Nephrite desires to see Akira and Rinko develop a romantic relationship, and he actively works toward that goal. His personality in this series is cheerful and sociable, getting along easily with many other characters.
