Description
Emily Asuno, born Emily Amonde, is a central character in the first generation of the story. She begins as a childhood friend and classmate of Flit Asuno in the space colony Nora. Her connection to Flit is significant, as she is the first friend he made after losing his mother, and she understands him better than most. She is also the granddaughter of Vargas Dyson, a skilled mechanic and head of the engineering squad at Arinston Base.

As a young girl, Emily is defined by her deep concern and caring for Flit, often worrying about his safety. She is torn between understanding his passion for piloting the Gundam to fight the UE and her own desire to keep him away from danger. In her efforts to protect him, she is a person of action, at times ignoring common sense and safety regulations. For instance, she stows away aboard the battleship Diva to follow Flit after the attack on Nora and even attempts a solo rescue mission when he is captured by the Zalam faction on Fardain.

Throughout the first generation, Emily's primary motivation is her desire to keep Flit safe, even as she slowly comes to terms with his decision to become a soldier. Initially, she tries to distance him from the battlefield, hoping that if he lost the Gundam he would stop acting like a soldier. However, after receiving advice from Laraparly Madorna, she resolves to fully support Flit instead of trying to stop him. She remains on the Diva's crew, providing support during battles and playing a key role in defending Grodek Ainoa's mutiny by revealing the original captain's plan to abandon civilians on Nora.

Emily's relationships are central to her identity. Her bond with Flit is the most important; though he shows more immediate romantic interest in Yurin L'Ciel, Emily remains by his side. After Yurin's death, Emily comforts Flit, and they eventually marry, starting a family together. By the second generation, at age 39, she is married to Flit and living in Tordia with their two children, Asemu and Unoa. In the third generation, she becomes the grandmother of Kio Asuno.

Emily’s character develops significantly over the course of the story, from a concerned childhood friend to a supportive wife and mother. As a young adult, she is a caring presence who, despite her fears, chooses to trust in Flit's mission. In her later years, she is described as a skilled computer technician who works alongside Flit. In the novelization, she and her daughter-in-law Romary contribute to the development of the FX-system for the Gundam AGE-FX, which is designed to enhance the abilities of an X-Rounder pilot.

Regarding notable abilities, Emily is not a mobile suit pilot or a soldier. Her strengths lie in her technical aptitude, particularly in computer technology, as well as her medical and logistical support skills. She serves as an operator for the AGE Builder and later contributes to the development of advanced systems for the Gundam.
