Description
Juuga belongs to the Kaiju Eugenicists, an organization aiming to harness kaiju for its goals. Standing 183 cm tall and weighing 76 kg, he wears glasses due to deteriorating eyesight in his later life, a condition that remained after his resurrection in the modern era. His name originates from the classical Chinese proverb "駑馬十駕" (Dobajuuga), representing the concept that persistent effort allows ordinary individuals to rival gifted ones.
Five millennia ago, Juuga and his fellow Eugenicists, including Gauma, brought prosperity to a nation by controlling kaiju, earning them the title "dragon controllers." Juuga admired Gauma during this period. Their relationship shattered when their country betrayed them, prompting the group's retaliation. Gauma, shifting loyalty to the princess, killed Juuga and the others before succumbing to his own injuries. This event left Juuga with lingering resentment toward Gauma, whom he later denounced as a traitor.
Revived in the modern era alongside the other Eugenicists, Juuga opposed Gauma for piloting the kaiju-fighting mecha Dynazenon. He joined kaiju attacks orchestrated by the group, such as those involving Greyjhom and Gibzorg. Juuga possessed the ability "Instance Domination," enabling him to subjugate kaiju and increase their size, specializing in controlling bipedal kaiju like Greyjhom and Gibzorg. This power also allowed him to analyze kaiju physiology, as shown when he detected Sizumu merged with Gagula.
Personality-wise, Juuga displayed calmness and maturity compared to his fellow Eugenicists, contrasting the more volatile Onija. Despite his past reverence for Gauma, he seemed less emotionally impacted by Gauma's betrayal than others. Intrigued by Yomogi Asanaka, Yume Minami, and Koyomi Yamanaka's ability to pilot Dynazenon—which the Eugenicists perceived as a kaiju—he visited Fujiyokidai High School to question Yomogi about Gauma's motivations. Juuga contemplated recruiting the trio as potential Kaiju Users.
After Garnix's defeat, Juuga approached Gauma seeking reconciliation but was violently rejected, solidifying his disillusionment. In the final confrontation, Juuga and the other Eugenicists attempted to use Instance Domination on Gagula, discovering Sizumu within. To empower Gagula's second form, they allowed themselves to be consumed by the kaiju. Juuga perished when Gagula was destroyed by Gridknight and Dynarex. His hobbies included investment.
No official information details Juuga's appearance or involvement in other media beyond SSSS.Dynazenon.
