Description
Onijya belongs to the Kaiju Eugenicists, an organization aiming to control kaiju for their objectives. Standing 180 cm tall and weighing 72 kg, he is the group's second tallest member. He possesses crimson eyes and matching hair that falls across his right eye. His attire incorporates the group's signature colors, displaying three pink stripes on the right sleeve. He wears rings on his left middle finger and right index finger, and two piercings adorn his left ear.
Impulsive and emotionally volatile, Onijya frequently voices his opinions with fiery intensity, a trait prompting Gauma to label him an "idiot." He harbors profound resentment toward Gauma for deserting the Eugenicists 5,000 years ago, vowing to kill him for this betrayal. Onijya exhibits strong misanthropy, desiring humanity's eradication except for his fellow Eugenicists, irrespective of kaiju involvement. Juuga often intervenes to restrain him.
His primary ability is "Instance Domination." Activating it requires him to recite the ability's name while placing his hand on a kaiju and splitting his middle and fourth fingers apart. This grants him control over upright kaiju possessing tails, enabling him to enlarge them to giant size.
Five millennia ago, Onijya, alongside Gauma and the other Eugenicists, brought prosperity to a nation by controlling kaiju, earning the title "dragon controllers." Betrayed by that nation, they retaliated with their own betrayal. Gauma then shifted allegiance to the princess, killed his comrades, and seemingly killed Onijya. Revived in the modern era, Onijya views Gauma piloting Dynazenon against their kaiju as further treachery.
Throughout the series, Onijya engages in multiple kaiju battles. Following failures with kaiju such as Burnaddon and Garnix, he seeks alternative methods to destroy humanity, resulting in arrest for attempting to steal a police officer's gun. Imprisoned, he escapes when Gagula's attack destroys the prison. In the final battle, Onijya and the other Eugenicists allow Gagula to devour them to power its second form. They are ultimately destroyed alongside Gagula during the confrontation with Gridknight and Dynarex.
A recurring gag involves Onijya narrowly escaping death from falling kaiju debris after battles, notably from Burnaddon to Neophobia. This pattern resumes when Gagula's attack breaches his prison cell. He frequently exclaims, "I thought I was dead..." following these incidents.
