Description
Kalluto Zoldyck is the youngest child of the Zoldyck family, a renowned lineage of assassins. As a male character who typically wears a dark purple or blue kimono, Kalluto has a youthful and somewhat feminine appearance characterized by short black hair and dark eyes. He is ten years old, stands roughly 150 centimeters tall, and has a slender build.
Possessing a silent and obedient personality, Kalluto is often seen quietly following orders, particularly those of his mother, Kikyo Zoldyck, with whom he shares a close bond. Despite this quiet demeanor, he is prone to toying with his opponents in combat, a habit he himself acknowledges as a flaw. His upbringing in the assassination trade has instilled in him a calm sense of brutality, allowing him to torture or kill targets without visible emotional disturbance. Beneath his composed exterior, Kalluto is introspective and acutely aware of his own limitations. When confronted with the immense power of others, he questions his own abilities, yet he demonstrates a powerful inner resilience and patience, refusing to give up on his long-term goals.
Kallutos primary motivation stems from his family dynamics, specifically concerning his older brother, Killua. He holds a certain animosity towards Killua for having attacked their mother when he ran away from home, and he is stated to be envious of another sibling, Alluka, for reasons not fully detailed. His most defining mission is to bring Killua back to the family estate. To achieve this, Kalluto joins the Phantom Troupe, a notorious gang of thieves, as a replacement for Hisoka, taking the number four slot. He believes that by rising through the ranks of the Troupe, he can gain the power or influence necessary to retrieve his brother.
In the story, Kalluto is first seen during the Zoldyck Family arc, where he observes Gon Freecss and his friends as they attempt to rescue Killua. His role expands significantly during the Yorknew City and Greed Island arcs, where he assists his brother Illumi in assassinating the Ten Dons and is later introduced to the Phantom Troupe. During the Chimera Ant arc, he accompanies the Troupe to Meteor City to eradicate the ant threat. In this mission, he realizes the vast gap in power between himself and the more experienced Troupe members like Feitan. Later, during the Succession Contest arc, Kalluto boards the Black Whale alongside Illumi and the rest of the Troupe, hunting for Hisoka.
Kallutos key relationships are defined by his family and his chosen organization. He is deeply loyal to his mother, Kikyo. His relationship with Illumi is professional, as they frequently work together on assassination contracts and Troupe business. His feelings toward Killua are complex, mixing familial obligation with resentment and a determined desire to forcibly return him home. Within the Phantom Troupe, his role is that of a junior member. While he is an operative, his primary loyalty seems to remain with his personal mission rather than the groups collective goals.
As a Nen user, Kalluto is classified as a Manipulator. His primary abilities utilize a paper fan and paper confetti. One of his techniques allows him to create paper dolls that can be used for surveillance and tracking, capable of relaying the conversations and situations of the person they resemble. For combat, he employs attacks such as Paper Blizzard, which uses the paper fan to manipulate countless paper fragments as sharp projectiles. Another technique, the Snake Bite Dance, gathers these paper shards into a serpentine form to deliver a concentrated, high-powered cutting attack. His skills are advanced for his age, though he acknowledges they are inferior compared to the main combatants of the Phantom Troupe.
