TV-Series
Description
Amane is a young woman who serves as a butler to the Zoldyck family, one of the most renowned and feared lineages of assassins in the world of Hunter x Hunter. She is the granddaughter of Tsubone, a senior and highly trusted member of the Zoldyck household staff. Amane makes her first appearance during the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc, where she is assigned a significant duty by the family head, Silva Zoldyck.

In terms of appearance, Amane is typically dressed in a formal black men's suit, complete with a matching tie, reflecting her professional role. She has long black hair that is neatly brushed back, with two distinct strands left to frame her face. Her features include a notably flat nose, and she often maintains a composed and stoic expression.

Amane's personality is defined by her profound loyalty to the Zoldyck family, particularly to Silva, whose orders she follows without question or hesitation. She strives to maintain a professional, calm, and impassive demeanor while on duty, much like her grandmother. However, unlike the more experienced Tsubone, Amane is not as skilled at completely concealing her true emotions. Beneath her cool exterior, she is naturally sincere, straightforward, and more emotionally expressive than she lets on. This contrast often reveals itself when she is teased or caught off guard, leading to moments of visible embarrassment or frustration, which another butler, Canary, notes makes her look cute.

Her primary motivation throughout the Election arc is to faithfully execute the mission assigned by Silva: to accompany and protect Killua and his younger sibling Alluka while simultaneously monitoring them. She is specifically instructed to secure Alluka immediately if Killua ever moves more than one meter away from her. This mission puts her in a complex position, as she must balance her duty to the Zoldyck family with the unpredictable actions of Killua, who is determined to save his friend Gon Freecss using Alluka's mysterious powers.

Amane's role in the story is that of a supporting guardian and skilled operative. She works alongside her grandmother Tsubone and fellow butler Canary to track Killua and Alluka after Killua uses his Godspeed ability to flee with his sister. During this pursuit, the group encounters the deadly clown magician Hisoka, and Amane prepares to intercept his attack, demonstrating her courage, though Gotoh intervenes and takes on the fight himself. She later demonstrates her resourcefulness by booking multiple decoy airships to outsmart Killua's older brother, Illumi, who seeks to eliminate Alluka. Throughout the mission, Amane provides crucial support, especially by piloting the various vehicles that Tsubone transforms into using her Nen ability, Rider's High, including a motorcycle and a glider.

Amane's key relationships are primarily with her fellow Zoldyck servants and the family members themselves. Her relationship with her grandmother, Tsubone, is one of respect and tutelage, as she learns from and takes orders from the more seasoned butler. Her dynamic with Canary starts with a degree of professional disdain from Amane's side, but they gradually develop a mutual trust and partnership. Canary, in particular, seems to enjoy provoking the more expressive side of Amane, leading to moments that highlight her more youthful and relatable personality. While she is fiercely loyal to Silva, she finds herself navigating the conflicting agendas of his sons, Killua and Illumi, during the mission.

While Amane does not undergo a dramatic personal transformation, there is a subtle development in her interactions with Canary, moving from initial arrogance to a more cooperative and even friendly rapport. She also shows signs of distress and anxiety when confronted with the immense, otherworldly power of Nanika, the entity within Alluka, which shakes her usually composed nature.

As a butler of the Zoldyck family, Amane possesses considerable physical abilities and combat skills. She has demonstrated superhuman durability, surviving a multi-car collision orchestrated by Illumi with no injuries. Her strength is sufficient to casually bend iron bars with a kick, and she is capable of opening the Testing Gates on the Zoldyck estate, though the exact number of gates she can open is unknown. Her speed and reflexes are highly advanced; she can keep pace with Killua, Canary, and Gotoh, and is even able to expertly pilot her grandmother's high-speed motorcycle form, which can outrun Killua's Godspeed. She is also an experienced driver, capable of operating cars, motorcycles, and gliders.

Regarding Nen, the life energy used by advanced fighters in the series, Amane is shown to be a proficient user. Although her specific Nen type and personal Hatsu (special ability) are never revealed, she possesses a deep knowledge of aura. She is able to supply her own aura to fuel Tsubone's transformations and can maintain Tsubone's glider form in flight for extended periods. Her ability to approach without being noticed by Killua suggests she is also highly skilled in Zetsu, the technique of concealing one's presence.
