TV-Series
Description
Biscuit Krueger, often called Bisky, is a seasoned and highly skilled Hunter who plays a significant role as a mentor in the story. Despite her outward appearance as a cute and petite young girl around the same age as protagonists Gon and Killua, she is in fact a 57-year-old woman of immense experience and power. She is a Double-Star Hunter, specifically a Stone Hunter, whose primary personal pursuit is the collection of rare and beautiful gems.
Her personality is a blend of deceptive charm and no-nonsense toughness. Initially, she uses her childlike appearance to her advantage, acting innocent to lower the guard of others for information gathering or to get her way. However, this facade conceals a short-tempered, shrewd, and sometimes mischievous individual. She has a notable vanity, becoming violently angry if anyone calls her "old lady" or "hag," insisting she be thought of as a "big sister" rather than a mother figure. Despite her occasional greed and love for teasing, she is deeply serious when it comes to martial arts and training, showing a strict, sincere, and even brutal dedication to bringing out the best in her students. She also has a lighthearted weakness for handsome men and is not shy about enjoying male fashion magazines.
Biscuit's primary motivation in the Greed Island arc is to obtain a specific, legendary gem called "Blue Planet," which can only be found within the game. Her role in the story evolves from a fellow player to a pivotal mentor. She encounters Gon and Killua and, after initially being annoyed by them, quickly recognizes their extraordinary but untapped potential, which she compares to enormous, uncut diamonds. Frustrated by the waste of such talent, she volunteers to become their teacher, providing them with rigorous, spartan training that dramatically refines their Nen abilities and combat sense. Her role as a mentor continues beyond Greed Island; she later rejoins the story during the Chimera Ant arc to further train them for the challenges ahead.
Her key relationships are largely defined by her role as a master. She is a direct disciple of the legendary Hunter chairman Isaac Netero and is a master of the Shingen-ryu school of kung fu. She was the teacher of Wing, who first introduced Gon and Killua to Nen, making her something of a grand-master to them before she took over their training directly. Her bond with Gon and Killua grows from simple instruction to a more profound, almost parental care, though she would never admit it openly. Later, in the Dark Continent expedition arc, she is recruited by Kurapika to serve as a bodyguard and Nen instructor for the 13th Prince Marayam, working alongside the ninja Hanzo.
Throughout the series, Biscuit demonstrates significant development, primarily in her relationship with her students. She begins by considering them amusing distractions or rough stones to be polished for her own satisfaction, but she eventually acknowledges a deep, genuine affection for them, feeling proud of their growth. Her own insecurities are also explored; she despises her true form—a towering, massively muscular woman over two meters tall—preferring to maintain her smaller, cuter disguise because she feels her real body is unfeminine, even though others have found it impressive.
Her notable abilities are formidable. As a Transmutation-type Nen user, she has perfected the art of transforming her body, switching at will between her small childlike form and her gigantic, powerful true physique, in which her physical strength is overwhelming. Beyond her combat prowess, her most unique ability is "Magical Beautician" (or "Coiffeuse Magique"), which manifests a Nen creature that performs various specialized massages. Her signature technique, "Piano Massage" (or "Souffle Rosé"), can restore the benefits of eight hours of sleep in just thirty minutes of massage, making her an unparalleled support for recovery and training. Her power is such that before overcoming his own psychological limits, even the prodigious Killua could not put up a fight against her.
