Alkan is a high-ranking member of the Dark Cooking Society, also known as the Underground or Underworld Cooking Society, an organization seeking to dominate China's culinary world through cooking. He belongs to the elite Five Tiger Stars, the society's five strongest and most fearsome chefs, and serves as a significant antagonist in the sequel series. An adult male, Alkan has upward-styled black hair, brown eyes, large eyebrows, a notable facial mark, and often wears armor and a helmet. His culinary expertise centers on pyrotechnics and fish-based dishes, spectacularly demonstrated during a battle along the Yangtze River where he ignited the water itself to craft an “Ultimate Fish Dish.” Reflecting his ruthless methods, he once manipulated villagers under the alias “Abalone Devil.” He bears the society's emblem, the Black Cloud Kirin, and like other high-ranking members has endured brutal training regimens that leave physical scars. Alkan directly opposes the protagonist, Liu Maoxing (Mao), especially in high-stakes culinary battles over the Legendary Cooking Utensils.
