Description
Kureha Sakamachi is the energetic and physically formidable younger sister of Kinjirou Sakamachi, a first-year high school student and an enthusiastic member of the handcrafting club. Growing up in a household where both parents love professional wrestling, she inherited a deep passion for the sport from her mother, Akemi. Her father, Jirou, also contributes to a home life steeped in grappling holds and submission techniques. This upbringing shaped Kureha into a cheerful, optimistic girl who expresses affection, frustration, and playfulness through surprise wrestling attacks on her brother, often leaving him injured as she refines her moves. When her brother is absent, she redirects her temper onto a teddy bear, treating it as a substitute training partner.

Kureha is outwardly tomboyish, direct, and brimming with physical confidence. Her personality carries a blunt, mischievous streak, yet she is fundamentally good-natured and fiercely loyal to her family. She approaches life with a straightforward intensity, rarely second-guessing her actions once her goal is fixed. That intensity first manifests in the story when she spots Subaru Konoe, whom she mistakenly believes to be a male pervert cross-dresser getting too close to her brother. Driven by a mix of protective instinct and outrage, she confronts Subaru head-on with her wrestling, only to be swiftly and decisively defeated. The defeat does not crush her spirit but instead triggers a dramatic emotional pivot: still convinced Subaru is a boy, she develops an earnest, overwhelming crush on the very person she had just attacked.

This infatuation becomes a central comedic thread. Around Subaru, Kureha strains to suppress her tomboyish habits and adopt a more demure, feminine demeanor, though her efforts often come across as clumsy and endearing. She blushes, stammers, and becomes flustered whenever Subaru is near, a contrast to her usual brashness. Her role in the narrative is that of a supporting whirlwind who complicates the already tangled secret-keeping around Subaru’s true gender, while also providing a sibling foil to Kinjirou’s gynophobia. She does not directly drive the main romance, but her presence consistently raises the stakes for Kinjirou and Subaru to maintain their cover.

Key relationships anchor her development. With her brother Kinjirou she shares a rough-and-tumble bond that hides a sincere, albeit physically expressed, care. Her parents, especially her mother, serve as her wrestling idols and the source of her fighting discipline. Toward Subaru, she cycles from hostility to devoted puppy love, and although Subaru never reciprocates the romantic feelings, Kureha’s one-sided attachment creates numerous awkward and humorous situations. Over time she grows slightly more mature in handling her emotions, learning to treasure the friendship that develops even as her crush persists.

Kureha’s most notable abilities are her athleticism and wrestling proficiency. She possesses agility, strength, and a repertoire of submission moves well beyond a typical high school student, routinely using her brother as a training dummy. While she is no match for the exceptionally trained Subaru, she remains confident enough to challenge anyone she sees as a threat to her family or her heart. Her resilience and determination, whether in battle or in chasing her idealized romance, define her charm and round out her role as a spirited, loving, and often hilarious presence in the everyday chaos of the Sakamachi household.
