TV-Series
Description
Rokuro Bundou is introduced as a young man in his late teens to early twenties, characterized by his pale skin and dark grey eyes that notably lack visible pupils. His black hair is styled to reach down to his eyes, longer at the sides, and he is typically dressed in a black, long-sleeved shirt with a wide neck opening paired with grey pants. This appearance is often marked by what is described as an apathetic and emotionless expression.

As a Deadman confined within the walls of the massive prison, Rokuro possesses a Branch of Sin, the ability to freely control his own blood outside of his body for various purposes. His specific unnamed Branch of Sin manifests in a defensive form, taking shape as a hexagonal shield with spikes along its sides. This blood-constructed shield has demonstrated the capability to stop bullets, even when fired from a fairly close distance. Beyond his Deadman powers, Rokuro also exhibits significant technical proficiency. He is highly skilled with electronics, capable of hacking and manipulating systems, and possesses knowledge of explosives, skills he combines to achieve his objectives as a meticulous planner.

Before being imprisoned, Rokuro attended Nagano Middle School, where he was a classmate of Kyoko Kasuga. At some point after his confinement, he joined Scar Chain, a resistance faction composed of Deadmen seeking to expose the prison's corruption. Within this organization, he served as the Chief of Intelligence, a role that leveraged his technical and analytical mind. Unbeknownst to his comrades, however, Rokuro was secretly a spy working from within. Acting as an informant for the Undertakers, the prison's security force, he was also ordered by the warden to create a fabricated short film that falsely showed the protagonist, Ganta Igarashi, confessing to the massacre that led to his imprisonment.

Rokuro’s outwardly calm and detached demeanor is a front for a far more volatile and disturbing personality. As a spy, he presents a composed exterior, but his true nature is that of a control-freak obsessed with probability and his own calculations. When his plans are disrupted or his betrayal is revealed, he drops the act to become sly, sneaky, and openly sadistic. He frequently cracks his neck in these moments and laughs in a psychotic manner, displaying a deep excitement at the thought of murder and gore. He is utterly self-serving, willing to betray his friends without a trace of regret if it serves his own personal gain, and he holds a particular disdain for Ganta Igarashi.

Rokuro plays a pivotal antagonistic role during the Scar Chain escape arc. He is instrumental in creating the group's elaborate escape plan, which centers on delivering a data chip containing evidence of the prison's crimes to outside inspectors. He is paired with the resistance leader, Nagi Kengamine, to secure an elevator during the ensuing riot. Upon reaching the control room, however, Rokuro reveals his treachery, refusing to activate the elevator and confessing that the data chip is actually a bomb intended to kill the inspectors and the escaping Deadmen. After a struggle where Nagi defeats the Undertaker guarding the room and knocks Rokuro unconscious, the plan is foiled. Rokuro later reappears with Undertaker reinforcements, holding the surviving Scar Chain members hostage. He is visibly enraged that someone discovered the bomb, a variable that disturbed his careful calculations. His plan ultimately unravels when an ally intervenes, leading to the defeat of the Undertakers and Rokuro's capture by the Scar Chain members.

His key relationships are defined by his duplicity. With Scar Chain, he is a traitor, using their trust to further his own agenda and that of the Undertakers. He has no genuine bond with any member, viewing them merely as pieces in his plan. His relationship with the Undertakers is transactional; he works for them as a spy but is ultimately loyal only to himself, acting as a free agent who uses both sides for his own benefit. He is also responsible for saving Minatsuki Takami from a punishment game on orders, further illustrating his role as an operative rather than an ally.

In his development, Rokuro begins as a trusted and unassuming member of a resistance group, only to be revealed as a cold-blooded traitor obsessed with his own perceived genius. Upon his exposure, his personality shifts from apathetic to unhinged and manic when his calculations fail. After his capture during the Scar Chain arc, he makes a final appearance later in the story, seen leaving the prison on a bus as the facility is shut down, his ultimate fate left ambiguous.
