Description
Lana Linchen is a Pandora from Tibet who enrolls as a second-year student at West Genetics Academy. Born and raised in Nagarze, Tibet, she is unique among Pandoras because she was born with stigmata already present in her body, making her a Maria-type Pandora. Her stigmata, known as the Tears of Kunlun, number six, which is more than the typical three or four that most Pandoras possess. She is the younger sister of Luna Linchen, whom she was forced to euthanize after Luna was consumed by the Nova form. Following her sister's death, Lana becomes the successor to the title of leader of the Kunlun Clan.
Lana has a cheerful, free-spirited, and mischievous personality. She is simple, honest, and possesses a strong sense of righteousness. She enjoys playing pranks and is unafraid to approach the people she likes, showing little modesty or shyness due to her rural upbringing. She is highly determined and persevering, especially when it comes to her goals, but she can also be stubborn and somewhat scatterbrained at times, preferring to solve problems through direct physical action rather than careful thought. When angered, she can display a fierce temper, as seen in her battle against Chiffon Fairchild.
Her primary motivation is to find her destined soul-mate, the person whose freezing abilities resonate with her Tears of Kunlun. This resonance leads her to Kazuya Aoi, and she becomes determined to make him her Limiter. This creates a romantic rivalry with Satellizer el Bridget, who is already Kazuya's unofficial partner. Despite this rivalry, Lana is not malicious and is capable of admitting when she is wrong and offering apologies.
In the story, Lana serves as a main character and a key Pandora in the battles against the Nova. She participates in multiple major conflicts, including the tenth and twelfth Nova Clashes, the E-Pandora rebellion, and the battle against the Busters. Her relationship with Kazuya is central to her arc, as she persistently expresses her desire to be his partner and undergoes a Baptism ritual with him. Her bond with her deceased sister Luna is a deeply emotional part of her backstory, shaping her strength of will and determination to protect those she cares about. Over the course of the series, Lana develops from a naive but powerful girl into a more mature and formidable Pandora.
Lana's abilities are considerable. She uses a set of Volt Weapons called Shigen, which are fist and kick gears that allow her to fight at close range. As a Maria-type Pandora, her stigmata grant her exceptional combat potential, and she is a highly skilled hand-to-hand fighter. She becomes capable of using Accel Turn and other high-end skills. Later in the series, she receives Valkyrie upgrades, allowing her to wield more powerful Plasma Weapons. In later arcs, her abilities transcend further, enabling her to injure extremely powerful enemies and endure powerful attacks that would defeat lesser Pandoras.
