TV-Series
Description
Keito Nichi is a student at Southern Cross High School, where she serves as the class representative for her class and sits directly in front of the protagonist, Takuto Tsunashi. On the surface, she presents a cold, serious, and business-like demeanor, personifying the model student who does not tolerate disruptive behavior. She is the head of the science club and has a noted interest in mixing chemicals and potions, a skill she sometimes uses to manipulate those around her. Her appearance is characterized by her long dark green hair, typically tied up in a ponytail, and a pair of glasses that conceal her brown eyes.

Beneath this studious exterior, Keito holds a much more significant and secret role. She is a member of the Glittering Crux Brigade, a mysterious organization, where she is known by the code name Ivrogne and serves as the leader of the Bougainvilleae squad. Her position within the organization is further complicated by the revelation that she is also the East Maiden, one of the four shrine maidens of the island whose powers are central to the story's events. Unlike some of her more flamboyant and aggressive colleagues in the Crux, Keito is often more reserved and disapproves of underhanded tactics.

Keito's motivations are deeply rooted in her past and her personal relationships. She was once a close friend of Sugata Shindo and Wako Agemaki, and the three spent much of their childhood together. A traumatic incident during a storm, in which a totem pole fell and trapped Sugata, created a lasting rift between them. In that moment, both Wako and Keito used their powers to save him, with Keito demonstrating an ability related to healing. This event cemented her deep, unrequited love for Sugata, a devotion that remains a primary driving force for her actions throughout the series. She harbors a degree of resentment towards Wako, which may stem from their shared dream of becoming singers and the complicated feelings surrounding Sugata's affections.

Despite her cool and distant personality, Keito shows a softer, hidden side. In a pivotal moment, she is revealed to genuinely enjoy singing and performing, a hobby she keeps secret from her peers. This scene shatters her previously rigid persona and adds significant depth to her character. She develops a unique and trusting relationship with Takuto Tsunashi, who sits behind her in class. Keito often helps him navigate uncomfortable social situations and seems to view him as something akin to a younger brother, considering him one of the few people she trusts.

Her role in the story becomes critical as her identity as the East Maiden is gradually exposed. Her primary goal is to have her seal broken, which would free her from her duty as a maiden and allow her to leave the island. In the climax of her personal arc, she makes a significant sacrifice. To achieve her goal and follow Sugata, who has become a key figure in the Crux, she allows one of the organization's leaders to use a special sword to break her seal, an act that destroys her Cybody and releases a powerful entity. Her journey is one of a lovesick girl whose desire for freedom and devotion to a single person ultimately places her in direct opposition to her former friends, highlighting her lonely and resolute determination.
