TV-Series
Description
George Honda is a second-year student at Southern Cross High School and serves as the captain of the school's boxing club. He possesses a large, imposing physique befitting his athletic role. Living in the same dormitory as the protagonist, he is often seen in the company of his childhood friends, Tetsuya Gouda and Benio Shinada.
Beneath his everyday identity, George is a member of the Glittering Crux Brigade, a secret organization on Southern Cross Island. He belongs to the Fifth Division, known as Filament, and his code name within the group is Raging Bull. As a Star Driver, he is the pilot of the warrior-type Cybody Alephist, a large, green, bull-like giant with prominent horns on its shoulders. His personal symbol, or "Seal," allows him to pilot this machine in the alternate dimension known as Zero Time.
In his initial appearance, George is portrayed as a confident and proactive individual. He is the first member of the Brigade to volunteer to open the seal of the Shrine of Water, which is protected by Wako Agemaki. His plan involves capturing Wako and forcing her to comply, but he is confronted by the transfer student Takuto Tsunashi. A physical scuffle ensues where George, using his boxing skills, initially knocks Takuto unconscious. However, Takuto awakens to become the Galactic Pretty Boy and summons his Cybody, Tauburn. In the subsequent battle, George's Alephist is effortlessly destroyed, making him the first opponent to be defeated by Tauburn. Due to this loss, his right to be a Star Driver, as well as his Seal, is temporarily stripped away.
Despite this humiliating defeat, George is a resilient and dedicated individual. He spends a significant amount of time in his room training intensely, determined not to let his failure define him. His dedication to boxing is notable, as he was once invited to spar with Kanako Watanabe to help her lose weight. Though he was confident, he was quickly knocked out by two of her punches; Kanako later admitted he was a tough opponent because most are defeated with a single blow. His commitment and caring nature are further demonstrated near the end of the series, when he is shown comforting a despondent Takuto. Furthermore, it is revealed that the team manager of the boxing club confessed her feelings to him before the final battle.
George Honda experiences a significant arc of redemption. After he has worked to regain his strength and his Seal, the Brigade revives the destroyed Cybodies, including Alephist. In the final battle against the villainous Reiji, George arrives to support Takuto. Piloting Alephist once more, he shouts his attack, Buffalo Crush, and performs a high-powered charge to destroy a revived Cybody that was about to finish off Tauburn. Although his Cybody is subsequently destroyed by a powerful enemy attack, his intervention is crucial. This act marks his growth from an early adversary to a reliable ally who can be counted on in the final hour.
George Honda is a capable hand-to-hand combatant due to his boxing background, which he uses both in the real world and likely as the basis for his fighting style in Zero Time. As the pilot of Alephist, his notable ability is the Buffalo Crush. This attack allows Alephist to extend or enlarge the two horns on its shoulders to deliver a devastating charge against an opponent. While the specific nature of his First Phase as a Star Driver is never explicitly detailed, his blinding speed in combat and his refined boxing skills are often cited as his primary strengths.
