Description
Jenny is the head priestess of the shrine dedicated to Mylee, the god of war, in the city of Ohfun. As the leader of this religious order, she holds a position of significant authority and responsibility within the community. Her role involves overseeing the training and development of younger priestesses, including Melissa, who is one of her charges. Jenny is an experienced and composed woman who has likely seen a great deal in her life, as she often displays a deep understanding of people and their behaviors.

Jenny demonstrates a personality that is both caring and subtly mischievous, particularly in her interactions with the young adventurer Louie and his companion Melissa. She has a warm, almost maternal concern for Louie's well-being and shows a great deal of interest in his life, especially his romantic prospects. This is most evident in her consistent efforts to pair Louie with Melissa, the very priestess who is destined to serve him. While her interest in Louie appears to be that of a fond aunt or mentor, she is also known to joke about the duties a priestess of Mylee might owe to her champion, at one point teasing Melissa that her service to Louie might entail sleeping with him, though she quickly reveals she was only kidding. She has also been shown to enjoy staging lighthearted scenes to teach others a lesson, such as when she allowed a de-aged Louie to go on a fabricated adventure to impart some wisdom.

Jenny's primary motivation stems from her role as a high priestess, which includes guiding the next generation of Mylee's followers and ensuring the god's will is fulfilled. Her guidance and wisdom are crucial for Melissa, who struggles to accept the god's revelation that the unconventional and bumbling magician Louie is her destined hero. Jenny acts as a pillar of support, encouraging Melissa to accept her duty. In the story, she serves as a figure of stability and authority, often providing context or revealing history that the younger characters are unaware of. For instance, she is able to explain that King Rijarl, the ruler of Ohfun, was very much like Louie in his reckless and passionate youth, implying she has personal knowledge of that era. This connection to the past suggests she was likely an adventurer herself in her younger days, possibly alongside King Rijarl and the head of the Magician's Guild.

Her key relationships involve the main characters. She is the superior and mentor to the priestess Melissa. Jenny holds a special, caring relationship with Louie, whom she keeps a close eye on and seems to have known for a long time, referring to him with an affectionate term. Through this connection, she also interacts with Louie's other companions, Merrill and Jeanie, though more peripherally. Her past as an adventurer links her to the older generation of power in Ohfun, including the king and Master Carwes, the head of the Magician's Guild.

Though Jenny herself does not change dramatically over the course of the narrative, she serves as a catalyst for the development of others, particularly Melissa, whom she guides toward accepting her role and growing into her duties. She provides a link to the past, revealing that the chaotic nature of a hero like Louie is not unprecedented, and that such warriors have successfully been guided by priestesses of Mylee before.

Jenny is not a front-line combatant like Jeanie or a magician like Louie. Her abilities are those of a high-ranking cleric, rooted in her faith and her station. Her primary noted ability is her extensive knowledge of Mylee's will and the history of the shrine, which she uses to counsel and mentor the younger priestesses. She has authority over the shrine and manages its operations, which includes training students in practical monster-fighting exercises.
