TV-Series
Description
General Rogui, also known as General Logi, is a character created exclusively for the anime adaptation of Blue Dragon. He serves as a primary antagonist within the story, holding the rank of a general in the Gran Kingdom's army. His past is intertwined with another key character, Zola, as he was once her commanding officer during her time in the military. It was during this period that Zola inflicted a noticeable scar around his left eye during a moment of insubordination in a fight.

As a person, General Rogui is characterized by his high rank and commanding presence, which is enough to instill fear even in a typically fearless and hot-headed protagonist like Shu. His personality is that of a calculating and ambitious leader, willing to make difficult decisions to achieve his goals. This is demonstrated when he orders his scientists to research the powerful Extra Seven, artifacts that were stolen under his orders. He is also pragmatic, using artificial shadows to empower his soldiers.

General Rogui's primary motivation shifts over the course of the narrative. Initially, he is a loyal general of Gran Kingdom, dedicated to his missions. However, after the destruction of the series' initial overarching antagonist, Nene, Rogui reveals his own ambition. He announces the secession of his forces from Gran Kingdom and establishes a new, independent nation called Rosenkreuz. This state is defined as a Shadow Extremist nation, indicating a belief system that prioritizes the power and domination of shadows. His goal becomes the creation of a new world order under his leadership.

In the story, General Rogui is a recurring threat to the main protagonists. He is the leader of the Independent Flying Squadron, a group of soldiers granted artificial shadows by Nene. He commands several notable subordinates, including Gilliam, Lemaire, Cynthia, Andropov, and Schneider. His strategic mind is displayed when he orchestrates the theft of the Extra Seven and uses Power Boosters to enhance his squadron's abilities. His relationship with Delphinium, a Gran Kingdom spy, is complex; she later attacks him for abandoning the kingdom.

Rogui's role becomes more prominent after Nene's defeat, where he transitions from a general of a kingdom to the ruler of his own faction, Rosenkreuz. He establishes his capital and continues to oppose the main characters, even kidnapping Kluke to interrogate her about Zola's plans. In a significant development, it is revealed that Rogui is a descendant of one of the legendary Warriors of Light, which is connected to the emergence of his true shadow, Odin.

General Rogui's development sees him evolve from a powerful enforcer for Gran Kingdom into an independent and ambitious leader. Initially seen wielding an artificial shadow named Valkyrie, who serves as his sword and shield, his true power is revealed later. After Valkyrie is destroyed by Blue Dragon, his real shadow, the Egyptian-themed Odin, is unveiled. Following his break from Gran Kingdom, he establishes Rosenkreuz. In the sequel series, Blue Dragon: Tenkai no shichi ryu, set two years later, he continues to lead Rosenkreuz's forces, seeking to establish a new world order. After his castle is set on fire by the character Lotarus, he is forced into hiding but later returns, piloting a weapon fortress called Sleipnir.

Regarding notable abilities, General Rogui is proficient in combat and a skilled strategist. His primary power, however, comes from his shadow. For much of the first season, he wields an artificial shadow named Valkyrie, which is a formidable and fanatically loyal warrior. After her destruction, his innate shadow, Odin, is revealed to be his true power, marking him as a descendant of a Warrior of Light.
