Marumaro is a main character from the anime Blue Dragon and belongs to the Devee Tribe, a race of yellow humanoid creatures known for wearing pots as hats. He first appears when his entire tribe in Lago Village is poisoned by the antagonist Nene. Nene tricks him into retrieving a false cure from the Ancient Hospital Ruins, promising an antidote for the tribe. After Shu, Kluke, and Jiro encounter Marumaro in a drill machine, he initially fights them out of fear but later cooperates after Shu saves him from an Icefire Wolf Ghost. When the fake cure causes catastrophic effects on his tribe, Marumaro realizes Nene’s deception and must find a more difficult true antidote. He then joins Shu’s group to seek revenge on Nene.
