Description
Kiyal Bachika is the youngest of the Black Siblings, a group of four siblings from a village who become key members of Team Dai-Gurren. Her given name is derived from the Japanese word "yaruki," which means "willingness". As the most mischievous of her family, she possesses an energetic and spunky personality that sets her apart from her older sisters. A small fang sticking out from the left side of her mouth is a consistent and recognizable feature of her appearance.

Kiyal and her siblings are first encountered by the initial members of Team Gurren when they mistake Kamina for an enemy and attack his Gunmen. After this misunderstanding is resolved, the Black Siblings join the growing team. In the early part of the series, Kiyal primarily assists on the bridge of the massive battleship Dai-Gurren, alongside her sister Kiyoh, performing duties in the control room. Her role evolves significantly around the thirteenth episode when she transitions to frontline combat, piloting her own customized Gunmen named the Kiyalunga.

The Kiyalunga is a pink mecha specifically tailored for her. Its notable ability is to transform its legs into a double-edged lance while its arms and body reconfigure into a shield. Rather than fighting independently, these components are designed to be wielded by her older brother Kittan's larger Gunmen, King Kittan, forming a combined mode known as King Kittan Deluxe. This setup reflects her role as a supportive member of the team, providing crucial enhancements to a primary fighter. Her cockpit is positioned on the back of King Kittan during this combination, which offers her a degree of safety compared to her brother in the front line.

Kiyal’s motivations are closely tied to her loyalty to her family and her adopted family in Team Dai-Gurren. While she often provides comic relief and emotional support, her determination and quick thinking make her a valuable ally. Following a significant time skip, Kiyal lives with her sister Kiyoh and fellow comrade Dayakka. During this later period, she demonstrates her unwavering loyalty to the team’s original ideals by childishly but openly criticizing the political actions of their comrade Rossiu when he moves against the protagonist, Simon. Throughout the series, she grows from a mischievous support crew member into a capable and combative pilot, directly engaging in the escalating conflicts against the Beastmen and other enemies.
