Description
Suneo Honekawa, also known as Sneech in some international adaptations, is a primary character throughout the Doraemon franchise, featured in works like "Stand By Me Doraemon 2". He is a short, thin boy characterized by black hair and large black eyes, often dressed in green or purple attire depending on the animation series. His family's significant wealth profoundly influences him, granting him approximately ¥5000 monthly in pocket money. This allows him to acquire expensive toys, gadgets, and comic books, which he habitually flaunts to provoke envy, especially in Nobita Nobi.

His personality blends cunning, arrogance, narcissism, and pride. He constantly boasts about his possessions, his father's position as a company president, and his own perceived handsomeness, often admiring his reflection. This behavior frequently triggers storylines where Nobita's jealousy leads to conflicts or requests for Doraemon's gadgets. Beneath this surface, Suneo reveals greater complexity. He frequently succumbs to cowardice under Gian's threats, often shifting blame onto Nobita to evade consequences, and displays sadistic tendencies by undermining Nobita's confidence. However, he occasionally shows genuine remorse when Gian bullies Nobita and demonstrates unexpected bravery or loyalty during true crises involving his friends.

Suneo harbors personal insecurities, including being the shortest in his class and a bed-wetting habit that forces him to sleep in the bathroom, which he finds deeply humiliating. His family consists of an excessively indulgent mother, a successful businessman father with celebrity connections, a younger brother (Sunetsugu) living in New York, a grandmother who teaches traditional values, and a wealthy cousin (Sunekichi).

Relationships are central to his role. With Nobita, he acts as both arch-rival and occasional friend. He routinely excludes Nobita from activities with Gian and Shizuka using weak excuses, collaborates with Gian in bullying him, and betrays him to avoid trouble. Yet, they sometimes unite against Gian or share friendly moments. His friendship with Gian is transactional and strained; Suneo flatters Gian to stay safe but fears his temper, often suffering theft of his possessions or food. He sometimes exploits Doraemon's gadgets to insult Gian indirectly. He respects Shizuka, inviting her to gatherings and admiring her cooking, though she compels him to include Nobita. Doraemon remains largely indifferent to Suneo's boasting, occasionally countering it with superior gadgets, which once sparked Suneo's jealousy over Nobita owning Doraemon.

Suneo possesses notable talents, including extensive scientific knowledge, strategic thinking evident when he strategizes complex revenges against Gian using gadgets, and artistic skill in drawing and design, admired by Shizuka. Conversely, he exhibits negative traits like environmental disregard, such as attempting ocean garbage dumping, and cruelty toward animals, like teasing a macaque resembling Nobita.

In "Stand By Me Doraemon 2", his adult self sports an afro hairstyle. His role maintains his established traits, participating in group activities surrounding Nobita and Shizuka's wedding preparations and the resulting time-travel complications. Across all media, his character continues to embody this blend of superficial vanity, hidden vulnerabilities, intermittent kindness, and complex, often self-serving, friendships.
