Description
Fa Yuiry is a central character introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, whose story continues into its sequel, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. Born on October 9, Universal Century 0070, at the Side 7 colony Green Noa I, she begins as a civilian teenager. Her life is inextricably linked to her neighbor and classmate, Kamille Bidan, whom she has known since childhood. From a young age, Fa acts as a primary caretaker for the emotionally volatile Kamille, whose parents are often absent and preoccupied, regularly managing his household and gently chiding him for habits like biting his thumb.

Fa’s ordinary life is shattered when Kamille steals a Gundam Mk-II to aid the anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG). Because of this action, her parents are taken hostage by the Titans, forcing her to flee as a refugee. She is rescued and taken aboard the ship Argama, where she reunites with Kamille. Despite his initial coldness, Fa makes the decisive choice to join the AEUG and undergo pilot training, driven by a desire to contribute and to stay close to Kamille.

In terms of personality, Fa is characterized by her domesticity, practicality, and a strong sense of responsibility. She is not a natural soldier; she is often frustrated by the unprofessional and reckless behavior of the younger civilians who later join the Argama, frequently scolding them for their lack of discipline. Her primary motivation is deeply personal: a steadfast, caring, and often unreciprocated love for Kamille. She seeks to protect him, both by supporting him in battle and, later, by devoting herself entirely to his recovery.

Her role in the story evolves significantly. During the Gryps conflict, she becomes the Argama’s sole surviving combat pilot by the war's end, piloting transformable mobile suits like the MSA-005 Methuss, as well as the G-Defenser and even the Zeta Gundam on occasion. Her combat abilities are modest; while possessing weak Newtype potential that allows her to sense the emotions of others in battle, she is not a powerful fighter and often requires rescue. Her true value lies in her resilience and dedication.

Following Kamille’s mental collapse at the end of the Gryps conflict, Fa’s motivations shift entirely from soldier to caretaker. She becomes a nurse, dedicating herself to his rehabilitation. In Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, she is often seen struggling to balance her combat duties with visiting the comatose Kamille in the hospital, an act of devotion that is notably admired by a Neo Zeon officer who calls her an "angel". After her mobile suit is disabled in battle, she chooses to retire from the Argama to remain with Kamille on Earth, working in a hospital in Dublin to fund his treatment. Her journey concludes with the implication that Kamille recovers, and the two find peace together.

Key relationships define her arc. Her bond with Kamille Bidan is the central pillar of her existence, transitioning from a childhood friend and surrogate mother figure to his devoted partner and nurse. She also acts as a surrogate mother to the war orphans Shinta and Qum, reflecting her nurturing nature. Her relationship with the protagonist of ZZ, Judau Ashta, is more contentious, as she finds his crew of juvenile delinquents irresponsible, serving as a foil to their carefree attitudes.

Fa's notable abilities include her proficiency with a variety of mobile suits, even without exceptional piloting talent. She demonstrates mechanical familiarity through her use of the complex transformable Methuss. More importantly, her abilities are emotional and cerebral: her developed Newtype sensitivity allows her to perceive distress, and her primary skill is her unwavering will to provide both material and emotional support, ensuring the survival of those she cares for.
