TV-Series
Description
Amagiri is a male Contractor and a loyal member of the organization known as Evening Primrose. As a Contractor, he operates on a detached, logical mindset but is notable for the deep fidelity he displays towards his leader, Amber, a trait that sometimes seems to border on a more personal conviction than the typical Contractor pragmatism.

A man of few words, Amagiri is reserved and interacts minimally with his peers, focusing instead on the mission at hand. Despite his quiet exterior, he demonstrates a keen understanding of the emotional states of others. During his brief time working alongside the younger Contractor Maki, he recognizes Maki’s jealousy towards Hei and seems to silently disapprove of such possessive and irrational behavior. His primary motivation throughout the story is his unwavering support for Amber’s cause, following her orders without question and acting as a reliable enforcer for Evening Primrose.

Amagiri plays a supporting but crucial role in the first season, often seen carrying out Amber’s directives. He is first seen alongside Maki and later confronts Hei directly during the mission to assassinate the Prophet Alma. During their fight, he pauses to try and persuade Hei to join Evening Primrose, revealing that Amber speaks highly of him. When Hei refuses, Amagiri allows him to pass after Alma telepathically intervenes, pragmatically noting that the loss of the Prophet is irrelevant as long as the organization retains its Dolls. He later participates in the climactic battle involving the meteor fragment and the Saturn Ring particle accelerator, where he attempts to destroy the device alongside Brita.

His key relationships are primarily defined by his loyalty to Amber. He serves as a trusted subordinate and is seen sharing quiet moments with her before battles, even offering her some of his boiled eggs. He also works alongside fellow EPR members such as Brita and the young Contractor Maki, acting as a guide and supervisor for the latter. In the OVA series Gaiden, Amagiri reappears after being presumed dead. He is shown to have survived his previous encounter, though he is now physically scarred, with all his hair burnt off and wearing an eyepatch. He resurfaces to rescue Yin and Hei from hostile Contractors, bringing them into the remnants of Evening Primrose, demonstrating his continued dedication to the group’s original purpose. Ultimately, he falls victim to the Medusa-like gaze of Izanami, leaving him standing upright but staring vacantly into space.

In terms of abilities, Amagiri possesses the power to project powerful concussive blasts from his palms. This technique is highly effective for mid- to long-range combat, allowing him to strike enemies and damage structures from a distance. As the price for using his powers, known as a Contractor’s Obeisance, Amagiri is forced to consume boiled eggs. He has expressed a personal distaste for this remuneration, which he must perform immediately after utilizing his ability, sometimes consuming several eggs at once.
