Description
Bisca Mulan, who later becomes Bisca Connell, is a member of the Fairy Tail Guild. She originally immigrated to the kingdom of Fiore from a region referred to as the West, arriving alone and impoverished. To survive in her new environment, she turned to a life of crime, adopting the alias Mulan Rouge. Under this identity, she falsely claimed to be a member of the Fairy Tail guild, using its fearsome reputation to intimidate townspeople and conduct petty theft without facing resistance.
Her criminal activities came to an end following an encounter with the S-Class mage Erza Scarlet. When Erza learned someone was posing as a Fairy Tail wizard, she confronted Bisca and defeated her in a decisive duel. Rather than further punishing the young immigrant, Erza recognized her difficult circumstances and invited her to join the guild legitimately. This moment proved transformative for Bisca, who abandoned her arrogant and deceptive persona to become a loyal and honorable guild member.
In terms of personality, Bisca is characterized by her determination and fierce loyalty to Fairy Tail, willing to fight for her comrades even when victory seems uncertain. She is generally headstrong and confident when interacting with most people, but this demeanor shifts completely in the presence of her fellow western immigrant, Alzack Connell. For a long period, she secretly harbored romantic feelings for him but was too shy to confess, often becoming flustered or timid when the subject arose. Despite this shyness, her deep affection for Alzack was a constant part of her life within the guild.
Bisca is a practitioner of a type of Spatial Magic known as Requip: The Gunner. This ability allows her to store various magical firearms in a pocket dimension and instantly summon them during combat. Her arsenal includes a Magic Sniper Rifle for long-distance and homing shots, a Magic Pump-Action Shotgun for close-range wide-area attacks, a pair of Magic Double Machine Guns for rapid-fire barrages, and a large Big Bazooka for powerful explosive blasts. She has demonstrated considerable skill as a markswoman, with a notable display of accuracy during the Miss Fairy Tail contest.
Bisca's key relationships are central to her character. She holds great admiration for Erza Scarlet, who serves as her inspiration and the reason she joined Fairy Tail. After joining, she formed a team with Alzack Connell, and their partnership eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship. During the seven-year period following the disappearance of Tenrou Island, the two married, and Bisca took the surname Connell. They later had a daughter named Asuka, marking Bisca's transition into a wife and mother. A treasured keepsake from their first mission together, a lacrima resembling a snow globe, symbolizes their partnership and the life they built.
Throughout the series, Bisca's role within the guild evolves from a supporting member into a protective parent, all while maintaining her duties as a Fairy Tail wizard. Her appearance also changes over time, with her early cowgirl-inspired outfit giving way to a more defined and mature look after the seven-year time skip, including sharper facial features, a curvier physique, and her long green hair styled into a thick braid. She participates in major conflicts such as the war against the Phantom Lord guild, the Battle of Fairy Tail, the Grand Magic Games, the Tartaros arc, and the Alvarez Empire invasion, where her sharpshooting skills were crucial in operating powerful magical cannons against formidable enemies. Her journey from a desperate, petty criminal to a selfless guild member, loving wife, and devoted mother represents a life fundamentally redefined by the bonds of loyalty, love, and family she found within Fairy Tail.
