TV-Series
Description
Droy is a Mage and a member of the Fairy Tail guild, where he is part of a three-person team known as Shadow Gear, alongside his childhood friends Jet and Levy McGarden. At the start of the series, he is an eighteen-year-old with a tall, slim build, black hair kept in an unusual style with a curled tuft on top, and dark eyes. His early outfit typically consists of a white shirt with bandoliers across his chest that hold special seeds for his magic.

As a person, Droy is defined by his long-standing romantic feelings for his teammate Levy, which forms a gentle rivalry with his best friend Jet as they both compete for her affection, though both have been immediately rejected. He is known to find other girls cute as well and shares some of the perverted tendencies common to many Fairy Tail members. Droy initially lacks confidence and often fails missions, leading to comedic reprimands from the more powerful mage Elfman. Despite this, he is deeply loyal to his guild and will not tolerate anyone who has harmed it, holding a strong grudge against Gajeel Redfox for a long time after being brutally attacked by him. He has an interest in plants and a known dislike for spiders.

Following the disappearance of the guild's strongest team on Tenrou Island for seven years, Droy is overcome with sadness and begins overeating to fill the emotional void, causing him to become severely obese. During this period, he wears a yellow vest over a straining white shirt and is constantly seen with food on his person. He briefly stops after his friends return but relapses upon learning that Levy has developed feelings for Gajeel, the very man who once hurt them. He is very sensitive about his changed appearance, becoming angry when others point it out while stoically denying any weight gain.

In the story, Droy serves as a supporting member of Fairy Tail. He is often injured in conflicts early on, such as during the Phantom Lord arc, and takes part in the Battle of Fairy Tail arc by attempting to get revenge on Gajeel, only for the encounter to be interrupted by Laxus. Due to being a less prominent fighter, he is not selected to participate in the Grand Magic Games tournament and instead cheers on his guild from the sidelines. He later appears during the Tartaros arc, bringing news of the Magic Council's destruction, and participates in the final battle against the Alvarez Empire, where he is seen inside the guild hall monitoring the war. During the chaos of the Eclipse arc, he is temporarily killed by attacking dragons but is revived by the magic of a fellow Mage.

The relationship between Droy, Jet, and Levy is central to his character. They have been friends since childhood and formed their team together. While he loves Levy, his affections are unreturned, and he serves as a comedic contrast to the closer relationship Levy eventually grows to have with Gajeel. His friendship with Jet remains strong despite their shared and unrequited love, and they are often seen together failing missions or relaxing at the guild. The Edolas version of Droy, existing in a parallel world, has the opposite personality: he is extremely muscular, confident, aggressive, and is considered one of the strongest Mages in his guild.

Droy fights using Plant Magic, which allows him to accelerate the growth of vegetation. His main method of combat involves using the bandoliers strapped across his chest, which are filled with pouches containing special seeds. By activating these seeds with his magic, he can instantly grow them into large plants or vines to attack his enemies.
