Description
Haruka Harukaze is the mother of Doremi and Pop, and the wife of Keisuke Harukaze in the anime Ojamajo Doremi DOKKAAN!. She has a background as a former classical pianist, a career that ended due to a severe hand injury. The loss of her musical career led to a period of deep depression, and she is said to have regained her will to live upon learning she was pregnant with her first daughter, Doremi.

In her daily life, Haruka is a homemaker who is often portrayed as a rather forceful and practical woman. She is frequently seen complaining about her husband's persistent desire to go fly-fishing, which is a running characteristic of their relationship. Her daughters and husband sometimes refer to her as being jealous, but this stems from her role as the grounded center of the family, keeping her more flighty husband in line.

While she is a caring mother who loves her children and is very proud of them, her parenting has been shaped by the trauma of her past. Initially, she projected her lost dreams onto Doremi, pushing her young daughter into piano lessons and becoming a bit of a stage mom. This led to a pivotal incident when a five-year-old Doremi froze on stage during a recital. Seeing the distress this caused her daughter, Haruka realized the potential harm of her actions, stopped forcing the piano on Doremi, and apologized to her. This event remains a significant part of the family's history and contributes to Doremi's complicated feelings about the piano. When her younger daughter, Pop, later expressed a desire to learn the piano, Haruka was hesitant because of what happened with Doremi but ultimately agreed to teach her.

Throughout the Ojamajo Doremi series, including DOKKAAN!, Haruka's role is that of a supportive, if sometimes strict, parent. Despite being unaware of her daughters' secret lives as witch apprentices, she is perceptive about their happiness. For example, she was the first to agree to allow Doremi to continue working at the Maho-do shop after seeing the positive changes it brought to her daughter. She also provides her daughter with practical, grounded advice, such as when Doremi is faced with the challenges of caring for the magical baby Hana. Her key relationships are with her immediate family: her husband Keisuke, her eldest daughter Doremi, and her youngest daughter Pop. Her development as a character is seen in her journey from a former musician who lost her identity to a dedicated mother who learns to support her children's dreams without reliving her own. No notable magical or special abilities are associated with her character, as she is a non-magical human. Specific information directly regarding her actions or development exclusively within Ojamajo Doremi DOKKAAN! is not available.
