Description
Flora is a key character introduced in the fourth season of the series, Ojamajo Doremi DOKKAAN!. She originates from the Witch World as a young witch infant who was being raised by Doremi and her friends. Bored with her life there and longing to be with Doremi and the others, Flora makes a significant and self-directed decision. She uses all of her magical power to instantly grow herself up, transforming her physical body into that of a sixth-grade student so she can attend school alongside them. This act is so powerful that it causes the magical shop Maho-Do to change into a crafts shop and shatters her own magical crystals.

Flora's personality is a blend of childish impulsiveness and a genuine desire to learn and be helpful. Her decision to grow up on a whim showcases her impatient and headstrong nature, as she does not fully grasp the consequences of her actions. Once she begins attending school, her true age often reveals itself through her lack of basic knowledge, as she must learn fundamental skills like how to write. Despite this, she is eager and throws herself into new experiences with enthusiasm. She can be carried away by her interests, such as becoming a huge fan of a superhero team called the Super Rangers and trying to spread their ideals of love and justice. She also demonstrates a rebellious streak, growing tired of being constantly watched over by the older girls and seeking independence, even befriending a strict model student in an act of defiance.

Her primary motivation throughout the story is to live a normal life as a human girl and to be an active participant with Doremi and her friends, rather than being cared for as a baby. She also strives to become a proper witch apprentice. Much of her journey involves taking magic exams to advance her skills, with her own fairy companion, Bibi, by her side. She wants to prove herself, both in her magical abilities and in her daily life, whether it is taking on responsibilities like being a class monitor during a school trip or learning to ride a bicycle.

Flora's central role in DOKKAAN! is that of a catalyst for the season's plot and a new responsibility for the main characters. After she uses her power to age herself, her magical crystals are shattered. The primary task for Doremi and the other witch apprentices becomes supplying Flora with the energy she needs to eventually become a witch apprentice herself. She is also one of the characters who combats the central threat of the season, which involves black flowers that spread laziness among people and magical beings. Her relationship with the main trio, especially Doremi, shifts from them being her guardians to being her classmates and mentors, which creates new dynamics and challenges for everyone involved. She also forms a close bond with her fairy, Bibi, and interacts with other classmates, including a boy named Francois and a girl named Helena, whom Flora decides to heal from a curse.

Throughout the season, Flora undergoes clear development from a magical infant to a more capable, though still occasionally naive, young girl. She experiences the normal challenges of childhood and school, such as learning to write and making friends. A significant moment in her development occurs during a school trip when she unexpectedly reverts to her original three-year-old appearance, forcing the older girls to use magic to hide this from their classmates, highlighting the precarious nature of her aged-up form. Her progression is also marked by her attempts to pass her magic exams, which test her growing competence and maturity.

Flora possesses notable magical abilities, though they are often unpredictable due to her status as a young witch. She has enough power to dramatically alter her own age, which is a feat that impresses and alarms the more experienced witches. However, this reckless use of magic often leads to problems that others must fix. For instance, she uses magic to address problems like a staffing shortage at a shop or to handle a strict librarian by sending her into a storybook world, though the outcomes of such spells can be chaotic. She is also capable of using her magic for healing, as she attempts to cure a classmate affected by a queen's curse in order to pass an important exam.
