Description
Nicole Segawa, known in the original Japanese version as Onpu Segawa, is one of the main characters in the anime Ojamajo Doremi DOKKAAN!, the fourth and final season of the Ojamajo Doremi series. She is a young girl who serves as a witch apprentice and is also a popular idol singer and actress. Nicole comes from a family with a mother who supports her career, and she initially appears as a rival to the other witch apprentices, particularly Doremi Harukaze, due to her use of forbidden magic to manipulate people's memories and emotions. Over the course of the series, Nicole undergoes significant character development, shedding her early cold and enigmatic demeanor to reveal a kind, selfless, and grounded personality. She becomes a loyal and dependable friend to the group, often displaying maturity and seriousness when the situation demands it.

In Ojamajo Doremi DOKKAAN!, Nicole plays an integral role as one of the Ojamajos tasked with breaking the curse of the former witch queen Majo Tourbillon. When Hana, the magical baby they raised, uses her power to age into a sixth grader and joins them as a peer, Nicole works alongside Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko, Momoko, and Hana to help recreate handmade gifts that remind Majo Tourbillon of happier times with her grandchildren. Her motivations are rooted in a desire to protect her friends and the worlds they inhabit, as well as a personal commitment to using magic responsibly after her earlier mistakes. She is particularly close to her fairy companion, Roro, and maintains warm relationships with her fellow apprentices, especially Doremi, with whom she shares a dynamic that balances occasional clashes with mutual respect and trust.

Nicole's notable abilities include her magical powers as a witch apprentice, which she typically activates using a magical flute. She is also an accomplished singer and performer, talents she often uses to help the group in their missions, whether by charming others or boosting morale. Throughout DOKKAAN!, she demonstrates growth in her understanding of friendship and the value of human effort over shortcuts, ultimately embracing the lesson that true strength comes from sincerity and hard work rather than relying solely on magic. Her role in the season is essential to the group's success in breaking the curse and achieving a resolution that allows the girls to graduate from elementary school, having chosen not to become full witches in order to live ordinary but meaningful lives.
