Kuukaku Shiba is the current head of the Shiba clan, a former noble family that fell from grace and now resides in the Rukongai outskirts of Soul Society. She earns her living as a renowned fireworks expert, a craft inherited through her family’s arts, and is known for frequently relocating and redesigning her home into extravagant, themed structures. Physically, she is a youthful-looking woman of average height with green eyes and long, messy black hair tied up with bandages. She has lost her right arm and, depending on the medium, is depicted either with a stump or a prosthetic limb. She carries a short-bladed sword on her back.
Kuukaku possesses a bold, assertive personality often described as ill-tempered and aggressive. She does not hesitate to scold or physically strike those who annoy her, including her younger brother Ganju, who is notably submissive in her presence.
